Is the Steelers organization holding themselves hostage to DEI ?

Dude keep your politics in your dirty living room. Idiot

You're referring to at least 75% of the "men" who post here. Sopping wet vagina fest of emotion and racism
I only know one guy on this board that is a racist maybe two. Most here are color blind including myself..

And of course we know who the biggest race baiting P O S on here is. Mike Tomlin’s strengths or pitfalls have nothing to do with him being black or white. But you strive to make it so.
Mel Blount is my favorite football player. Not my favorite black football player,I don’t separate. My favorite player.
I could care less if you,Mr Times are Changed, are black or white or pink or blue. Your comments just add to more dissension.
Calling 75% of “men” on this board racist?
.
Your “Sopping wet vagina” bull-**** is getting so tiresome. I guess it correlates from your “ normal guys get a hooker or three” or “go beat up on your wife” type comments.
If you have children I really hope you don’t bring this type of Bull-**** that you spew on here to their every day life.

Is the Steelers organization holding themselves hostage to DEI, because our Democratic owner fears looking like a hypocrite due to championing the 'Rooney Rule' in the NFL ?
That's a big part of it. Deuce isn't going to be the Rooney who fires their first Rooney Rule hire.

There is no such thing as color blind but you're entitled to your personal delusion

Anyone who sees this thread also sees how many people spoke out against it

I am not delusional I am color blind. I have no negative feeling about people based on skin pigmentation. There is people exist that aren’t to any degree racist. You are speaking to one. And everyone in my life can back me up on that. When I look at someone I look for how they act as a man woman not what they look like..

You are actually talking about your own personal delusion. Sadly.

Not feeling this thread at all
THEN JUST MOVE ON BY. It's not that hard.
Unfortunately the Rooney rule brings that mess to the football forum. No?

Whether the Rooney rule keeps Tomlin here or not it still is a conversation point in the football forum. I personally believe Rooney keeps him around out of loyalty. The fact that he never has had a losing season. The fact that we are always in the hunt for a playoff berth. I also can see the merit where some might see the other reasons. We live in an era where the NFL puts political issues before the game of football. Lloyd didn't do that. I didn't. You didn't. the NFL did. And for what? Perhaps Money? All that said if a moderators feels a bit weak.....send the thread elsewhere.
Is the very participation in this thread including the political into football? Perhaps, but does the very nature of this subject do that?

The DEI subject does that, but it's also a reality of today's NFL and certainly one of Pgh's. Fact is coaching hires should have nothing to do with the color of a coaches skin, but the Rooneys have made it so. Now peoples literal lives are at stake over this (see airport safety issues).

That's a big part of it, but possibly more importantly, there's lots of $$$$$ left on that contract.

As long as the seats are filled and the TV money pours in, Art II is happy. How else do you explain the lack of any changes? 2024 Steelers = 2025 Steelers.

EXCELLENT post slash, thanks for all your GREAT ones along the way.

Many here are NOT even remotely color oriented.

Myself, I’m a very curious and learning more type person. I ask a lot of questions and observe a lot. So I may ask different all colors people a lot of questions, but only to try to understand them better. I do that with all colors / shape / sizes of people. I am respective to the tenth degree.

I extend a “Hand Up” to all those who truly are in need, when ever I can.

While it is football related it leads us down roads that are far from football and can alienate people very easily. Let's keep the political Football conversations sequestered in the Political forum. Just my opinion. I am all for political debates, just in a place where you have to want to see them.

$48 million reasons to be exact.
I lay dollars to donuts that unless he wants to retire, Shades gets another three year extension regardless of his playoff record or regular season record.

I hope you are wrong but it wouldn’t shock me.

if things stay the same and right now, I have no reason to believe otherwise, another three year extension would shock me. The recent one angered me and put a damper on my enthusiasm to post here over the past year (stop the applause) because I have a hard time finding anything positive to say and like others, have already expressed my criticism of the present ownership and the stubbornness of our head coach.

I do appreciate and admire the enthusiasm you and others display on this forum when discussing possible free agents, player progression, mock drafts etc. Recently the only joy I have concerning the NFL is when certain teams lose like the Ravens or sadness like last week when the Bills lost. That’s pitiful.

I root for the Steelers but there’s little expectation of change or real success. Others here have expressed the same and it seems like this is becoming common but it pisses me off considering the high regard I always held the Rooney family and organization.

I feel your frustration bud hang in there. I am still wondering if I can muster to watch a game this season. I definitely desire change too.

I’ve been on this board for a long, long time and I will say that the posters here are absolutely not racist. I believe that we are merely passionate Steeler fans that want our team to win championships irregardless of who the HC happens to be. Skin color has never had anything to do with posters frustrations here. No, it’s the same ******* results year after year that’s what has folks frustrated here.
Mike Tomlin happens to be the one constant here and if the HC was white delivering the same results, trust me the reverberation around here would be just as loud.
I remember when Bill Austin was our HC back in the late 60’s, fans wanted to crucify the guy and he was eventually fired for Chuck Noll.
Geez, you had fans wanting Cowher gone because he couldn’t get to a SB.
This has never been about Tomlin being a black HC. It’s always been about him delivering the same mediocre product, that’s all.
Are there one or two racists on here? Probably, most likely but I think the posters on this site are smart enough to know who they are and don’t engage them.

Like last year, I will watch most of the games but they are no longer must-see TV. If I have something else to do, I'll do it.
Need to know what's going on so I can sound reasonably knowledgeable here and not like Keith Butler who said they'd have to key on a retired Broncos player.
We know how every season is going to go. 9-8, 10-7, and if they get into the playoffs they'll get massacred.

****, you're older than me.

Ron, I remember watching these guys when Bobby
Layne played QB and Buddy Dial. I was a kid but do remember that.
Would go to Pitt Stadium as a kid and watch the team. They were bad then. Real bad!
Saw lot of great teams and players but they were the other teams.

GREAT post KStilley, appreciate it and all your great ones along the way. Keep coming here we need yaz.

This post summons up what am lot of people here and elsewhere are thinking. Ownership is fine with the status que.

Art 2 is talking Ireland game. Making it a regular for the NFL. He claims he hopes we could be one of the teams that play there on occasion, even if very rare. Why would he promote a country that has little to NO NFL interest or fandom than compared to an NFL ready Mexico City ???

He was asked if he was willing to give up a “HOME” game to do so and he said that he would even though it means one less pre-season game.

I too hope for change. This isn’t what the STEELERS were intended for, Art Sr., then Dan would both be for wanting a different path. They showed it (Art Sr. Took a little longer, but was there in the end), lived it and planned for competing at the highest level.

I just hope Art 2’s Kid (Dan) can establish some fire, make team decisions as well as financial decision, all to get us back to the original STEELERS way.

I would argue that the noise would be a LOT louder.

Tomlin isn't a bad head coach because his skin has a lot of melanin. He's just a bad head coach. There's several of them, of all races and creeds, that are terminated every season across all levels of the sport. Discussing why that isn't happening in the case of Shades isn't political at all. It's a legitimate question.

I Don’t have to move on,

AND I don’t need a DEI check on a freaking Steeler nation forum

IDIOTS Bringing race to the forum… and not only that your premise is non-substantial…
