Per Steelersdepot there was an audible question and Tomlin answered it as per thread title.

So not only is Kenny scheme handcuffed but apparently he can not audible out of whatever is called.

Just ridiculous...

He did mention it is a week to week decision, but thinking their weekly decision to let Kenny audible is probably few and far between.

These people need replaced. Their offense is a ******* dumpster fire that will never reach elite level in any faction of it.
 
You just set yourself up for failure when you don't allow your QB to audible at the LOS when he sees the defense's alignment, how can you attack a mismatch you didn't expect if the QB can't make a call on the fly or get out of a play that is doomed to fail when the defense has a perfect counter for the called play? This is madness

Also, how can your young, what you believe to your franchise QB, feel you have confidence in him if he isn't allowed to make adjustments on the fly. These things only help an offense and your QB, not hinder them.

I mean our former HOF worthy, Super Bowl winning QB wasn’t allowed to audible… why in the heck would they let a sophomore QB do it?

We need an enema of the Narcissistic arrogance in this staff…

The fact that Kenny cannot audible out of some of these runs is just astounding to me. There is literally 9 and 10 guys in the box. Out of all of those runs, there is ONE run where Najee misses a hole...but when you consistently have a LB and 2 DBs going against 2 WR or a TE and a receiver, there is no way that should ever be ran.

It's like this old school mentality of I just expect you to execute and win the LOS, just like they don't try to scheme players open on routes, we just expect you to win every route contest. Like gtfoh, the NFL is all about exploiting weakness, creating and attacking mismatches, and trying scheme players open. I just don't get this level of narcissistic behavior, because maybe in some situations you just need expect players to beat the guy opposite them, but not every single play through the entirety of the game especially when the play calling is as predictable as it is
 
Bottom line is that Tomlin is content being ranked 25-28 in total offense. He's on record as saying he prefers coaching in close games.

It's like being in battle, and suddenly, there's a minefield in our path. Proceed or change direction? We choose to proceed because we're not gonna deviate from the plan and we all know what that brings. I honestly believe this team could be so much better if it was allowed to be and not micromanaged as said above.

Thanks for the confirmation slash.

I’ve been saying for quite some time about the “audible”, it ev en extends back to BR7’s final season as he couldn’t audible until week 5 or so. Then I think BEN just took it on himself to audible for all those amazing come-backs along the way.

If SBWHCMVT is allowing this, then this is a **** system all the way from top to bottom of the offensive scheme and coaching. Shows how clueless this coaching really is.

Never a losing season.

Tomlin is the one and only consistent element, we have changed QB's, OC's, QB Coaches...etc. the only constant is Tomlin. When you see the same game plans, same schemes, same lack of running game...eventually you have to look up the chain of command and wonder how much of this offense is actually Tomlin's design or input?

Anything is possible in A’Merica, but even if so, O’Canada needs to be escorted out along with SBWHCMVT.

Nothing but the sacrificial OC will happen, but if the bad showing keeps happening, then hopefully non-renewal and we can get Mr. Tomlin a ride outA town. My guess is the team will do just enough to keep Coach Tomlin and the non-losing season intact.

Some are calling for Haley to come in and fix this offense. I’m not so sure Haley would opt to work under Coach Tomlin, unless he was given full reign (in writing) of the offense.

We have the talent to be top 8 offense, we just need the coaching talent to allow it.

KP should just do like BB did when he has only one play called into a stacked box...call a timeout! That will either force a fix or it will expose a failure in the scheme.

It seems like our best runs are when the ball carrier runs away from the designated gap. Even they are few and far between.

Ahhh....Some are calling for Haley. LOL. Who is actually? Click bait BiT cHes that is who. Ohh....I also heard some wanted Ben to take over for Canada. Again... clickbait. As long as we hover around...or just above or below .500 we will not be changing who our OC is this year. Just the facts. The dude has 14 more games under his contract. You don't expect the Rooney's to eat that $$$$ do you? That's $$$$$ out of his pocket. :oops:
 
Sometimes it's really embarrassing the **** he says. We are gonna look at their personal package and the down and situation and call a play based on that. Then if they flex their defense in a way that we are screwed......tough ****. What a moron.

He said that? Holy crap this guy never ceases to amaze me. With this idiotic control freak style coaching Kenny is going to have a very difficult time progressing here.
If I were Kenny if it doesn’t get better during the season and he sees his progress stunted by Tomlin and Canada, he should go to Art II and voice his concerns or ask to be traded.
This is ******* stupid! You wonder how Kenny would do under someone like Daboll the Giants HC?
