Steelers claimed KR Jacoby Jones off waivers from the Chargers.
Jones was waived by the Chargers on Tuesday. He's only played three offensive snaps this year and will see most of his time on special teams. Related: ChargersSource: Jason La Canfora on Twitter Nov 5 - 4:30 PM

As I've consistently said since the moment we drafted him, Archer was way too small and unpolished for the NFL game. What a huge draft bust he turned out to be. Never understood those hard-headed fans that supported the pick and the player. :redface-new:

Welcome aboard Jacoby......now....make plays for us instead of AGAINST US .....

Great move. LOVE IT. If only we could hold for him like Baltimore did on the punt return in their super bowl against the 49ers. LOL.

And Dri is gone. Hardly knew ya. The *Cheatriots will probably pick up Archer and turn him into the second coming of Wes Welker..

Later Dri.

I always liked the idea of his speed and thought he had big play ability, but I just don't think he has the ability to make guys miss. I don't even think it's completely that he's "too small" per se, I just think he lacks elusiveness and goes down too easily.

I don't wish him ill will.. I hope he finds a spot somewhere. I always rooted for him. Oh well

Even though I was a Dri 'Believer', Jacoby is a much more proven commodity with both size and speed.

Still- why in the world is there all of this discussion for a late 3rd round pick? We should be elated that our offense was so good (well, at least last year) that we couldnt find him the touches.

There have been successful special teams return guys smaller than Archer.....remember Jermaine Lewis for the Ravens.....? He was 5'7" 180lbs. Although I do think drafting Archer that high was a mistake, I cant say that there is no place in the league for small fast guys. If you utilize guys like that in space and exploit mismatches, you can have success.

I'm with you Aggie. I always root for our rookies coming in to make a splash. I was willing to give Archer a chance. He got his chance and did very little with it. In fact, he did nothing with it. Wish him well in whatever he ends up doing next - changing lightbulbs, feeding giraffes, painting ceilings, packing top shelves, saving cats from tree branches, what have you.

I think a lot of us, while not Dri Archer fans, just did not understand the fuss over a 3rd round pick. Yes, there are many successful 3rds, but many more unsuccessful. I thought it was a dumb pick, but ****, I can live with dumb in the 3rd round. Dumb in the 1st, not so much, which is why I stay out of Jarvis Jones discussions.
