Thats true, and undeniable.
Being disgusted with his failures is precisely why no one wants to give a coach we despise any credit for starting Rudy.
But then to counter my own argument:
Tomlins move to start Rudloph was merely an act of desperation. A shot in the dark. Not a "genius move" in the least.
I guess the positive thing to come out of that is that it shows that Tomlin wants to win in the worst way.

Mitch played himself off the field with piss poor play. The only reason he was in the field is because Kenny got out the pocket to early and got injured.
Let's go back to Ben's career start. Can we agree that he was the best QB on the roster and was #3??? What happens if Maddox and the other bun don't get hurt??? When does Ben get his chance???
Rudy has learned and is now showing his skills. He earned his PT.
You jump over the 2 if they are showing no signs of appropriate play. Mitch wasn't the starter. He was a backup you owe no backup anything. You keep them on a short leash. You shouldn't need three bad losses to realize you need a change. Halftime of game 2 of Mitch sucking it up I bench him 10 out of ten times.
The whole team needs to win. Not just one person.
I don't see it that way. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go back rewatch those 3 games.
What's the point? I want to see if the blame is only on Mitch...
He needs to guide this team to a win. Put them in a position to win. That is a head coaches job. Make adjustments in the game if needed.
I know you like Mike but any coach needs to do this. Especially one that hasn't had playoff success in awhile.
Sure rewatch them, I will save you some time though. Mitch blew chunks.

Mitch was bad, the line was bad, the defense was bad....Definitely wasnt all on mitch, but he certainly didnt do himself any favors.
I know, we all like the whole team. Maybe minus Mitch
. But Steelers are overdue for a playoff win. Not sure anyone can deny this ..

Mason actually had a better training camp than Trubisky for one.
Mitch played poorly in the second half of the Cardinals game.
Mitch got benched last season after poor games.
I think Mason should have and been the number two coming out of training camp but Mitch was one of the guys Tomlin wanted along with Kenny so Mason got buried on the bench,
I was one of the guys that was hoping we signed Mitch prior to the 2022 season. I was was wrong!
Mitch is careless with the ball and thinks he’s a gunslinger but he’s not. He makes poor decisions and throws into double coverage and cannot be trusted.
I think Mason never really got a true shot to be number two and just overlooked and cast aside.
