James Washington Signs One-Year Deal In Dallas

Nope .. OLAVE (or Wilson) at 1-20. That's what it's going to be.
Ya heard it here first. (Which is of little to no value)

All your post(s) have value and I think you meant I read it here first but I like your way of thinking...............................

He was a good draft pick and they signed too many free agents to get a comp pick next year. Wide receiver also is a top 3 priority for the draft.
He was not a good draft pick. 2nd round should bring more than WR3 or worse

Exactly their usual approach BPA at needs.

Needs for now is DL, WR, and SS.

Corner could sneak in there if a number 1 type CB was sitting there.
After both CB signings, both young also, I have moved on from CB in the 1st round as a possibility for the Steelers.
Not that I wouldn't draft one if available but the FO won't.

Probably not. I just always keep a possibility open for a slide. When I went over some scenerios it always seemed to be equal value sitting at WR. Sometimes DL. Sometimes RT.

Unless Davis is there my money is on WR in 1.

Completely agree

So this was rumored and I wish the guy the best of luck… drafting Dionte and Claypool just killed him.. … he obviously mentally checked out last season… it also didn’t help that our wr coach dropped the ball during his time here…

Meh on to bigger and better things… let the poor mans ernie mills live long and prosper in the land of brokeback bovine boys in boots

As far as the draft, i think its a mistake to not use our top 3 picks on some order of OT, WR, and DL unless a really great player falls.. id also drop another pick on wr later.. it’s deep and worth the double up..

Hoping a SS gets brought in soon. Then they can zoom in on WR,Dline,CB, and T. Maybe throw in a pass rusher or backup RB..

If the SS is 1.20 it's not much of a gamble. These kids come pretty ready now. And SS is a pretty stock position. Learning curve isn't bad.

Edmunds wasn’t ready, neither was Troy… a few are, sure.. but that isnt a sure thing… expecting rookies to start as rookies is how we got in the mess we are in now

Emmanuel Sanders or Will Fuller could fill JuJu’s role effectively enough. They should have Julio come in for a kick of the tires…

I'm with you on this but am open to if an unconditional not miss stub was there at 1.20 they will take DL / WR / CB / S. I think there will be more than one stud there at 1.20 so it will be how they view their need.

I doubt we see a rookie ss starting… tgey didn’t do all this to gamble there

For years it was made out that our system was to complicated for a rookie to step in and play but the reality is the coach(s) didn't want the gamble.

Edmunds wasn’t ready, neither was Troy… a few are, sure.. but that isnt a sure thing… expecting rookies to start as rookies is how we got in the mess we are in now

Good points of transition from college to pro and most rookies need that year.

Maybe things have changed to more easily to adjust but UNLESS the guy is a real natural stud, I doubt he starts out of the blocks. If we do get one that has the skill / talent to start immeadiately, then that would be a very successful draft pick.

Our starting WRs
DJ, Claypool and Gunner
Gunner doesn't play WR. He converted from CB to return specialist when he got the NFL a few years ago as an undrafted FA. I think he literally has only a handful of catches in the NFL. This is really a surprising move. He's not that fast and has no other value. I'd rather have a fast guy that can still play as your No. 4 or 5 WR. Maybe he will learn to be a WR but so far he hasn't..

I saw that he was moved to WR.. Only 9 catches in 3 years and yes his speed is not game changing. My opinion was the Steelers got rid of average WR/KR/PR and filled the hole with the same. Up side to Ray Ray, he could play WR.

I disagree IRON City. Which of our last 5 first rounders or first picks didn't start immediately? Or at least take a snap count of a major contributor. If you are the around 20th best player coming out of college now you are expected to have immediate impact unless you are a Q and they don't wanna ruin you.

You're right but how many safteys have we drafted in the last five years, 1st round.?

I hear yaz SateelerSask but I got a little nastolgic going in my post and thinking how many times I heard how complicared our system is and rookies can't start.. I still say if the rookie can start then that is a successful draft pick regardless of what round pickd.

I think rookie MOORE but more so rookie Green could have used a year to acclimate to the NFL. Frieremuth & Najee didn't seem to have any trouble.

No worries
