Javon Hargrave

Damn he’s become one of the more disruptive defensive tackles in the league. We should have kept him and let Dupree walk.
It was more of a choice between him and Tuitt… and Tuitt was the better talent.. life just madevthat choice bad in retrospect

The thing is early last season we could have gotten him back…. The Eagles were willing to part with someone… though he would have likely cost us a second (which became Pickens)… the Steelers were more interested in Fletcher Cox though, but they wanted a third for him…

Honestly i think we will be happier with Leal and Pickens down the road

It wasn't Dupree (my bad) it was Tuitt (Litos pointed that out).

Hindsight is 20/20 and definitely looking back in rearview mirror, we should have kept him. Water under the bridge, can't put the pudding back in the box, so to speak.

That pudding is a UFA I believe after the season.

😁

Before Tuitt lost his brother the Steelers had the best one two punch inside in tge league. Thats if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle.

Saw this tall *** big woman as I was exiting the gym yesterday. I was mulling over if she was related if she would be my aunt or uncle. I am still not sure. She reminded me of the chick from Duce Gigolo movie. 😁

Sometimes you choose the wrong road. It's life. Hopefully the Steelers have better luck in future decisions.

Was her name Lola? Did she have a deep raspy voice?

I didn't talk to her. I tried not to stare so not even sure if she had that apple. But that was one big *****.😅

He will get his paycheck, big time. Not sure we could afford him but the STEELERS have been creative in the past.

She/it was sauced to the gills. Probably has more testosterone coursing through those veins than an entire Marine battalion.

Meh, salary cap. You can’t keep everyone.

When we went to Pittsburgh for a family trip game we had almost a full day on fly day. We went to the sub on the riverfront and the science museum. Probably worst looking trans gender I've ever seen. Me and sons were playing air hockey. They challenged me and destroyed me like 10-1.

As I understand it the Steelers wanted to sign him but couldn’t afford it because of the franchise tag on Dupree. So in essence they chose Dupree for one more year rather than Hargrave long term

NO, Tuitt was the counter to Hargrave.

I'm all for a big FA signing if Larry O isn't offered a new contract + a high draft pick DT

AS long as it's Trench Warfare FA and NOT a punter..

I made a comment to Alex Kozora on twitter that we should cut oft injured Tuitt and re-sign Hargrave. He said how dumb that would be and blah blah. I replied to the tweet after Tuitt retired. Crickets lol

At the time I would have agreed with him. there is no way to have foreseen what happened. This is truly a case of hindsight here.

Except Tuitt hadn’t played a full season at that point yet.
I am sure they factored in his injury past. At that point Tuitt simply was the better player. You don't ship off your better player(s). Not sure as a run stopper Hargrave will ever be on Tuitt's level.

Unfortunately, Tuitt never gained back from the injury. Hargrave is making a name for himself. Time will tell but back when this was taking place the STEELERS did what they felt was best. Thge brother's death gave him more open space and time than the team would have normally given..................... that is where the problem started.

I sort of was glad they gave him that space. People will say well nobody usually gets that luxury. But I wish they did have a more flexible luxury of stepping away and having time to recharge after a loss. Hard to recover from injury when your head is elsewhere. I still feel for him to this day.

I agree slash and no disrespect for him or the organization, but that time spent away is where the problem started as they couldn't monitor progress from injury or self-discipline of staying in shape.

Unfortunately, it turned out as it did and we lost both Tuitt & Hargrove.
