Holy ****! Have they been watching the Steelers the last month? Artie Smith for Pete sake!
The Jets really are dysfunctional.
Supposedly other teams want to interview him.
I don’t get this one at all .

Screw Arthur Smith...if the Jets are interested in that guy, imagine if the Steelers offered up Tomlin himself? Two first round picks, and he's yours, New York.

Dude has been held back here.

Could Coach Tomlin finally have a little bitty branch on that coaching tree?
I posted this in another thread, but no because Smith established himself as an offensive coach and head coaching candidate elsewhere. He was like Bruce Arians.

I did hear Smith is expected to get interest from multiple teams.

I don't even know where to start with this.

A.) Has NY been impressed with the Steeler's O? How, why?
B.) Has NY not figured out that Smith isn't really running the O, just incase they were impressed?
C.) Did Smith impress them with his head coaching stint in Atl?
D.) What did Smith do that impressed them? I'm not seeing it.

In the game yesterday it was reported that Aaron Rodgers thought being on the Jets was the highlight of his life. Serious drug problem there.

I also heard that were interested in Rex Ryan again. Not really sure what is going on up there

You are being sarcastic right?

Just cuz a guy sits shackled under Tomlin for a season or two doesn’t mean he’s a branch from the tree when he’s an established coach coming in having been a HC and OC elsewhere for much longer.

A branch would be something he created off his tree trunk. AS was better elsewhere when he wasn’t handcuffed. If anything Tomlin pruned the branch that used to be AS.

Calling AS a branch would be like calling Flores an already established coach in his own right a branch from the Tomlin tree.

A branch would be if he brought in someone like Hines as a WR coach, developed him and he went on to a promotion of OC/HC. Tomlin doesn’t develop coaches much like he doesn’t develop players.

He requires finished products when they walk in the door. Trust me, coaches aren’t leaving to disseminate Tomlin’s brilliance around the league.

If Smith is getting interest from multiple teams imagine how much Tomlin would attract.

I suspect that other owners look at Tomlin the same way Rooney does…that he’s heck of good coach getting the most out of the players that were dealt him.

probably your best post ever.

maybe we get the Jets and Cowboys into a bidding war.

very sarcastic.

“Mumbles”, are we talkin’ ‘bout “Mumbles”?

He mumbles too much.

I literally cannot listen to any of his press conferences because he doesn’t answer any direct questions and he mumbles.

Doesn’t matter who the OC is so long as Coach cliche is in charge. We have now had 4 OC’s that end up running the exact same offense, formations, screen passes, and toss sweeps. That is not a coincidence

If I was Mike Tomlin, there is absolutely no way I would allow AR2 to Trade me for anything. This is the only operation that will allow him to hang on and on and on and on and on. The job security here is too much to give up, and why would he really want to start all over again at his age?

He will be at the helm until HE DECEIDES to leave, and it won't be for another HC position somewhere else. TV Gig is where he will eventually end up. He doesn't seem to me to be the type of guy that will say "Phuq it, I'm done, Me and the Mrs are headed for Tahiti".
