Got thrown in when starter injured throwing hand. Drove them down for go ahead TD. They are up by 1 with 3 min.

Did they have snowmobiles doing backflips at halftime?

That was the best part of the last Grey cup game I partially watched years ago....

No they had a big country music extravaganza. I don't know much about Country music but my sister in law was pretty stoked about it.
Lol.....every decade or so, it's the very best of Regina show....how wonderfully inspiring.

So who won ? Who was in it and final score?

Haha where are you from Confluence?
I spent my youth an hour west of Trawna, 10 years downtown TO, and since have been 90 mins east of the Centre of the Universe.

So in typical CFL fashion it came down to the final seconds. Both teams had blocked field goals. Winnipeg was kicking from about 50 to win it and Toronto blocked it to win. 24-23. Fairly big upset. At least it was not won with a Rouge. Kelly came in relief of Toronto and probably was the difference. QB from BC named Rourke (played for Ohio bobcats) probably gets an NFL look next year.

It ain't personal I just hate everything Toronto. Particularly the Leafs.
Yep, same here. Grew up watching the Flyers beat the living **** out of Borje Salming, and the rest of the Loafs, every year in the playoffs. Was so glad when Lanny left and had success in Calgary.

Fwiw, Ottawa is far worse than TO

My boy's dream football season is down to one last game at OFSSA against St Mike's. Great run for the boys, undefeated for the past two seasons.

......though they did start running the Steelers O the last two weeks, lol, so the big school guys from St Mike's couldn't get tape, lol.

Congratulations to your son and his very proud dad.!!!

All the hard work pays off and glad he earned that knowledge at an early age.

That's awesome. Good luck to them. You guys are still playing HS football. Jesus the Vanier is next Saturday. My son's HS career ended almost a month ago in city final. Is your boy gonna play U Sports?

Congrats Confluence to you and your boy.

Hopefully your Griffins do well playing in Guelph (home of the Gryphons) and site of the Football Bowl Series 2022

What is your boy's position and number ? So I can help cheer them on against St Mike's if I get a chance to attend some of the games next week .... it is only 10-15 minutes away from me

Good luck

If you go, share some insight here if you can. Thanks Paul

No idea....he is still in grade 11, figuring **** out. One of his buddies will play lacrosse down south, but my son is not as dedicated.....just enjoys the season and the challenges.
A group that I coached in Novice hockey is the core of the team, mostly local lacrosse players who had a lacrosse coach convince them to try football after Covid. It is really kinda neat to have the good fortune that these guys have been matched with great coaches and seem to be able to dominate -- so far.
The same group also plays midget (******* U18 now) hockey, and team's only loss, so far, came in the first game of the season when half the team was unavailable. It could be a "small town kids" dream season in hockey too.
We all feel very fortunate, because it ain't usually like this.

He is 40, and his been recently been co-opted as TE (more like Gentry than Muth in this O), but is far better at LDE, in my opinion. He fills in a bit at ROLB too. He has watched TJ a lot and knows that when he is playing LB, that he must flow to the ball, fill the gap, and not look flatfooted and lost like Bush.

It is an unfortunate schedule starting at 10am driving thru TO in the early am; they have never played or practised that early in the day, so who knows what will happen. Thanks for the support!

407 goes all the way to Peterborough now...... $$$ or the scenic route on HWY 7 .............. lol .........yeah that is not a great time to have to hit TO rush hour
Yeah I saw the schedule and you drew the Tuesday 10am game
It is supposed to warm up and rain alot on Sunday .......... hopefully the field holds up ........... Tuesday at 10am is supposed to be right around the freezing mark or just above
St Mike's will probably be decent competition ........... Tell your boy not to live in his fears, obviously .............lol

Here is the update you asked for DIC
Tuesday November 29th 10:00am EST

CONGRATS to Confluence and his boy #40 Independent Bowl Champs 2022 OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) in CANADA

THOMAS A STEWART SS GRIFFINS (Peterborough ON) defeated St Michael's College Kerry Blues ( Toronto ON) by a score of 48 - 7

Thomas A Stewart dominated the game, beginning with some determined RB effort early in the game followed by fine play by #16 and exceptional effort by #11 (3 Tds in the first half alone)
The only glimmer of hope for St Mike's was a kick return TD where the receiving player pitched the ball backwards and the returner reversed field direction, broke a shoe string tackle and took it to the HOUSE
Other than that huge play the special teams for St Mikes blocked an extra point conversion
In desperation mode St Mike's turned the ball over on downs deep in their end just before halftime.
A beautiful pass into the endzone was broken up at the last second by the St. Mike's team .......leaving mere seconds on the clock for a GRIFFINS 36yard FG attempt
DOINK .......... hit the crossbar and bounced back into the field of play

Halftime........ went to Tim Horton's to warm up 34-7 midway point

Play was already under way when I got back and the GRIFFINS had scored another TD in my absence.
Late in the 3rd quarter they pinned St Mike's deep again .........took control of the ball and scored another TD on the ground

St Mike's never challenged in the 4th

Confluence's boy made a nice pass breakup in the red zone that he probably wishes he was able to control for the INT .........but Griffins played stout DEF and kept them out of the endzone in garbage time

GRIFFINs laid a beating on the largest private school in Ontario ........... stick to hockey ST MIKEs ........ alumni include many NHLers Ted Lindsay, Dave Keon, Tim Horton....list goes on for quite awhile

The only thing I had problem with today............ cheering for a team that dresses like the Patriots........ Confluence ....next PTA meeting .....issue a black and gold uniform

Nice day for football......... brought back memories ........... I used to play on that field with a bunch of former highschool players and members of the Guelph Gryphons football team 30 plus years ago no equipment tackle on Sundays.......... tore my hamstring up so bad one weekend .... kept taping it up and playing ....... big mistake ....never seen so many colours from *** to ankle ........ oh to be young again

Alumni Stadium Guelph ON is now a beautiful facility .......
