Joey Porter Jr.............................. not dad

The Steelers can chose whether the NFL fines are to be enforced or not. Sometimes teams wave fines / current contract salaries in good faith of getting a new / extension contract done. It is all part of the strategy of negotiation.

Back to the original claim of Steelers forfeiting to pay wages is by far from what reality is.

I hold true, the Steelers have all the leverage, JPJ would by far benefit by getting himself onto the field of play. If he ****-s around to much, injured reserve could end his season. His value would drop significantly.

PS. Currently he is not “holding out” but out due to injury. Until he is a healthy scratch, then the TEAM will determine wether he is a hold out or not.

Salute the nation
Are you not paying attention? It was reported in the Post-Gazette today, by a Steelers source, that Porter WAS A HEALTHY SCRATCH. Not only have they not fined him, they are paying him his not to play. Thats beyond good faith, that’s bending over and grabbing their ankles.

Injured reserve will not hurt his value. Actual injury would. If he can pass a physical, he has value.

McCarthy flat out said he would have to go through a ramp up period first.

The tag will be well below the current market next year. about 24 mil.
Regardless, it’ll be much more than his current salary.
Somebody tell the Steelers' players' union rep Cam Heyward to tell JPJ that's the deal his union agreed to.

Right, unlike Roger’s, Metcalf, Watt, Heyward, Ramsey….
Those guys were at least practicing though, even if they weren't playing in pre-season games.
