Lots of reports Steelers are interested in a trade for this talented RB. Keep in mind he wants 14-15 million per season, soon coming off pup, and what about Najee?
I don’t know what validity this story has but it sure has made the rounds the last couple days.
It would have to involve trading Najee and most likely a draft pick as well.
To me imo it’s just bs but interestingly the Steelers with a few other teams are mentioned.

The O-line isn't ready for a RB upgrade it would be just wasting draft stock.

This type of trade should be reserved for one player away- solid coaching in place type teams.

The Steelers are neither.

I'm all in...

At least we would finally get what we originally wanted..

A legit mid round 1 NFL starting running back that can change the game on any given carry..

minus 2 - plus 1 - no gain - plus 78 ------ equates to 4 carries for 77 yards and probably a touch...
Najee cant do that.

Don’t get in a panic boys, I can’t see this happening but find it interesting that they would be linked to this type of trade.with other pressing needs. Najee is Shade’s guy which makes this even more bizarre.

Would only start to make sense if Harris or Warren were included as part of the trade. No need for 3 all purpose RBs.

I’m just going out of memory from DK Sports Daily Shot.

The STEELERS have had about 90 running plays, 27 of them have been for 1 yard or less. That is NOT a good stat to have. It points to a couple of things.

these are my perceptions

1) RB could be the problem BUT Najee Harris has the MOST yards after contact, in the NFL.

2) Poor OL play, We have talented OL that is equal to many teAMS WITH BETTER RUNNING PRODUCTION (Sorry caps accident).

3) we have play calling and design issues. THIS is my biggest concern and more likely than not, the REAL problem.

4) Trading RBs isn’t going to improve anything. Until the core problem is fixed, it won’t matter who you put back there.

They are now talking about it on 93.7 The Fan. They think it’s ridiculous as do I. Just doesn’t make sense unless Najee is part of the trade and you can sign him. I just don’t see it!

End thread now.

No, no, and no! He will cost at least 2 No. 1 picks and at least $15 million per. Most on here hate the fact we used the pick we did on Najee. Imagine doing this for Taylor. No way, no how. Use Najee and Warren. You can sign Najee's 5th-year option and then draft a 3rd rounder to compete with Warren and then replace Warren when he wants a contract. That seems to be how teams want to play the RB game nowadays. Just don't bother on a RB who you will ever pay $10 million per. Cheap, cheap, cheap. A dime a dozen.

P.S. I am glad to see Conner got out and ended up getting paid. And, he has been playing good football for a ****** Cards team.

I mean the guy that started this rumor said tge Steelers were among 7 teams that inquired about him, and he still hasn’t been moved… so i am guessing that either he was trying to drum up business or inflate the value of the Back…. I really doubt that there is any real market for him… especially from us… we were probably just doing our due diligence….

FIxed it for you. Canada at his very best is barely adequate at this point. Unless we win the whole thing I don’t see him being back next year. I am not convinced he actually called the plays last week.

Taylor is an upgrade but definitely not worth that kind of money. The Rooneys wouldn't pay even if he was worth it. Can't believe people are actually taking this seriously.

I simply dont trust blogger reporters or beat reporters for trade rumors… if a National guy breaks it, sure… but Bloggers concoct things and too many team beat guys act as team propaganda shrills

DIC nailed it. We have play calling and design issues. Same as last year. Neither Canada nor Tomlin identified the issue or corrected it. Tomlin to the XFL!

No way...kill the Steeler salary cap and loss of 2 first round picks on a RB? That is front office suicide.

The only way I’d be OK with trading for Taylor is if it was like the Lions trading for Goff. If you recall, the Rams just wanted him off their books so badly that they gave him away for almost nothing and I believe they paid part of the salary. If they could get like that, then I’d be OK with it. But paying top dollar to a RB right now for the Steelers is insane.

Najee has not lit the world on fire but the run game struggles are on the OL and the high school offense, not on the RBs. Thinking a new RB will all of a sudden make this OL better is the same mistake they made when they spent a 1 on Najee.

The colts should sign Taylor to a long term deal. It’s the perfect scenario to pay a RB. They have a QB on a rookie deal. They aren’t paying anybody at WR or TE either. They have a good OL. Now is the time to pay a RB. He will take pressure off your developing QB and 3 years from now when you have to pay big money to Richardson, you can re-do Taylor’s deal or just trade or release him.

No one is giving the colts two first round picks for Taylor who is in the last year of his four year contract even if the new team or colts signs him long term before the trade.

I could see the Browns attempting to trade for a one year rental by boosting his fourth year salary but they already gave up allot of draft capital for Watson and how much would they offer considering Chubb should return in a year.

Baltimore is another team that should be interested but, cap issues due to their "all world qb." I could see them offering a second and fourth, maybe a first considering it will be in the 20s.

Good chance we are going to be paying WARREN not so far out. Skip this, let Najee and Warren do the 1-2 punch thing (each considered a 1, good balance with the hot hand rolling).

Ultimately, extend Warren (should he continue to develop) and let Najee earn his way (whether to another contract here or at his next stop).

I am not a Najee hater and in fact like him a lot. The current NFL money logic says you eventually extend Warren (should be cheaper than Najee but not cheap) and the next man up slides into 2 (whomever that may be).

Have to choose where you dump tons of money and RB isn’t it. Look at all of the almost nobody

Only way I’d consider something like that would be if he were the reincarnation of Barry Sanders who really did not need an OL… Taylor ain’t it.
