Jonathan Taylor! Lots of Rumors

How about we promote Warren, fix the O line, and keep Najee? I don't want to pay a lot for quality lipstick for pigs.
I think the play calling would fix a lot of what ails the offensive line. I mean, if your offensive line is facing 9 and 10 man fronts on 90% of their running plays you aren't going to get a lot of production from your running game.

No one is giving the colts two first round picks for Taylor who is in the last year of his four year contract even if the new team or colts signs him long term before the trade.

I could see the Browns attempting to trade for a one year rental by boosting his fourth year salary but they already gave up allot of draft capital for Watson and how much would they offer considering Chubb should return in a year.

Baltimore is another team that should be interested but, cap issues due to their "all world qb." I could see them offering a second and fourth, maybe a first considering it will be in the 20s.

Id be thrilled if either Cleveland or Baltimore gave up huge capital to get him then signed him to a big money contract….

Also, the move to do with him is to offer less than whatever comp pick you projected he signs for, then let him walk as a UFA … that costs a few mill but ultimately would be worth it… especially if you draft a RB with that pick…

This is so dang frustrating. Any mediocre OC would dial up plays to take advantage of a team having 8, 9, or even 10 men within 5 yards of the LOS. Not our genius, Canaduh, though. I just can't understand how he still has a job. This is basic for being an OC.

I don’t think anyone is taking this rumor seriously as some have said here. I just put it out here since it’s been making the rounds.
They have Najee and Warren on the cheap so Art is not going to pay another RB 15 million a season.
Plus you have to trade that inexpensive RB Najee and a premium draft pick. That would be a stupid move. We need these picks next year for a center and a RT at the very least.
And you put Taylor behind this OL whats going to change?

FIxed it for you. Canada at his very best is barely adequate at this point. Unless we win the whole thing I don’t see him being back next year. I am not convinced he actually called the plays last week.
I said “CORE” as I t5hink it goes a little deeper than just O’Canada. When he is gone, they will just promote from with-in.

I’m just going out of memory from DK Sports Daily Shot.

The STEELERS have had about 90 running plays, 27 of them have been for 1 yard or less. That is NOT a good stat to have. It points to a couple of things.

these are my perceptions

1) RB could be the problem BUT Najee Harris has the MOST yards after contact, in the NFL.

2) Poor OL play, We have talented OL that is equal to many teAMS WITH BETTER RUNNING PRODUCTION (Sorry caps accident).

3) we have play calling and design issues. THIS is my biggest concern and more likely than not, the REAL problem.

4) Trading RBs isn’t going to improve anything. Until the core problem is fixed, it won’t matter who you put back there.

End thread now.

Bermuda said it's over. End thread now.

Why doesn't anyone ever listen to Berm?

berm knows a lot of stuff, but he is un-influential when it comes to ending post(s).

Taylors 5.1 yard per carry FOR HIS CAREER versus Najee's 3.9 per carry FOR HIS CAREER...

Of course they are gonna inquire...Najee's career mark is below the MENDOZA LINE

Frustrating for sure. He will continue to have his job until he doesn't and there's nothing you, I, or anyone on this board can do to change that. I really believe Tomlin has a major say in that decision because of (what I believe) is the Canada/Dino Tomlin relationship. It would be nice though to watch a game and not get pissed off because of stupid decisions (like no audibles) or whatever else we see during the game.

Najee and a 3rd for Taylor. I'd be in on that. The idea that you have to keep dancing with the ugly date you brought only breeds a losing culture.

Fools love Najee on here. The rest of the world can see what you see
I think Taylor is a good back, well above average, but nothing special enough to pay 15 million a year.

What brings a losing culture is having an Oline that cant seem to figure out who to block or simply being out-numbered. Najee might not be the greatest, but Taylor, Payton, Sanders, Bettis, Brown etc etc are not going to make the run game better. There is 0 point on wasting a draft pick + money on something that wont even be a band-aid. If defensive players are in the backfield the RB is not the problem. If there are 10 guys in the box and you run into a wall the RB is not the problem. Teams have won with much worse backs than Najee and we have a nice change of pace in Warren. If the line learns to run block we can revisit this, but until then it is pointless.

I don't subscribe to the notion that Najee's problem is the o-line. Every year he has an excuse. I'm not saying our o-line is great. But Najee ain't gonna find those holes he had at Alabama.

Far too many of our play calls either telegraph run or telegraph the run and encourage the other team to stack the box (odd strategy). But, here is what is worse, even when we aren't running, we mostly do short, short passing which means opposing Ds can run almost the same or substantially similar D to stop our pass as stop our run. Who would have guessed that an NFL team would run an offense where the D can basically stack the line and/or box on pass AND run plays? It is terrible.

Jaylen Warren looks like crap behind the line this year too… he is worse than Harris.

Harris gets hit a lot behind the line and fights for yards after contact. As with most backs… RBs are just a reflection of the blocking scheme… ever since the last of Munch’s guys retired ( unless you count Chuks as a rookie backup) the line has been utter crap runblocking…

There are no holes or no chance to find holes if you have defenders in the backfield. Our oline seems confused. Talent wise they are OK, but they are not getting the blocking scheme
