Josh Harris RB

You CANNOT be serious? Archer is averaging, as it has been stated over 5 yards per carry in a LIMITED ROLE. Give the kid a chance to put together some NFL film before you chastise him - unless you can go tote the rock better than he??? M'kay?

yup, his awesome 5.1 average with a LONG of 15! So let's look at this logically. His longest run makes up 37% of his total yards. That means he was averaging a nasty 3.7 yards before he got that run. Or is this where you say the sample size is too small? He isn't getting very many touches because he doesn't have a role for this team. He MIGHT have one now... but it's still highly unlikely. It's not like Blount was getting a **** ton of carries the last few weeks either, he didn't even get one in the Titans game. Josh Harris will get more carries than Archer will.

One touch per game and no return duties isn't a limited role. It's NO role. Take a look at the rookies in the NFL this season, then come tell me we shouldn't expect anything from poor Dri because he's just a li'l ol' rookie. Hell, look at our fourth-rounder who was just as raw and untested as Archer was. He's the one who's ACTUALLY opened up the offense (or seen the field really at all).

I didn't chastise him at all. Just pointed out the concern, that our 3rd-rounder, who was supposed to open up our offense and take kicks back to the house, currently does neither. Maybe it's the fault of the coaches for not utilizing him, but then we'd have to criticize a coach or two, and then you'd have a problem with that.

I hope not. Give the kid the ball doing what comes natural. Then maybe he can build some confidence to do the other things we are asking him to do. Kid is pressing, thinking, just get the ball in his hands and let him run.

So you're saying you like Archer? Great!!!

Your stance softens everyday. I suggest Viagra...

Yeah, on a whopping 8 carries. That's not "limited role". That's barely a blip on the radar. Berrrrrrrm, lookatchoo tryin' to be all intellectually dishonest :)

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Omar10213245 again.

- The FO thought more of Archer than they did of Dri Archer than Josh Harris on draft day. The FO thought more of Archer than they did of Dri Archer than Josh Harris on cut-down day. I'm sure the FO thinks more of Dri Archer than Josh Harris today and will on Nov 30th against New Orleans.

It will be Dri getting the extra carries, not Josh Harris. From what it looks like to me, Josh Harris is the new Byron Batch, Derek Moye, etc.

I'm rooting for you Dri!

Contrary to the BTSC comment regarding his speed, Harris, the paper that shall not be named had him at 4.46 from one of their sources I do not remember which one it was. Bell combine 4.6.
Willie Parker 4.23. Bettis 4.48 Interesting to me was the speed of the bus compared to those guys. So he is about as fast as a young Jerome and a lot smaller and he is right in between Archer and Bell both in size and speed. The kid looks like a good risk at this point for the squad as he can get up to speed and will likely share carries with Archer when giving Bell a break. Granted it would be nice to have another big fast back on the team but I think the team will be ok with what we have. We also have a full back that can carry the ball and wear down the people he hits as well.

I haven't seen anything from Archer that I have found to be impressive thus far, he's just taking up a roster spot at this point.

As for the posted video, I see a lot of one-handed ball carrying through traffic, that **** won't fly in the NFL.

Harris will get his chance to show what he can do. I think he's already a plus up going off tackle as watching Archer run that play was like a ****** up game of "Red Rover"!!!!!

So the last Dri Archer thread got closed so this one got started is that the gist of things?

Something just occurred to me. I know Bell was having his best game as a pro, but one wonders if Blount got zero touches just because of Bell's success or was it because Blount did something to irritate the team days leading up to the game. Even a Bell who is killing it could use at least one or two blows, as had been the case previous to the TN game. Do you think Blount was in the dog house, and after getting zero carries, it just made him even more mad, being that there was a rift to begin with? It just seems irrational, even for Blount, to storm off the sidelines just because he didn't have any carries ONE game.

I love this thread - can't even read the whole thing without a response to each comment so far...Pixie dust for you!!!

I'm hearing yaz Berm !!!!! Some here just want to condemn, maybe able to say they are right and know the most. I say " Let the flucking kids play " see what the hell we got. We are 7-4, tough **** on the losses as we can't go back and change them. Tough shlit on the current coach, cause no matter how much blitchin is done, GUESS WHAT, he will be here the entire season. He isn't going anywhere. TIRADE complete.

Salute the nation

I think you signature says it all. Too bad I can't post the song to support it from my phone! "Lifestyle" - the clean version of course ;-)

There had to be some other stuff going on.. Haley had said they were already starting to phase him out of the gameplan. We will probably never know the full truth....

Too little, too late.

You've earned yourself what's called a "cheerleader vendetta." Get ready for the instruction manual on what a REAL Steeler fan is.

Haha
.
If I was a betting man and had to pick one guy to produce behind Bell for the final 5 games
I say Harris>Archer;)

Maybe Blount's pushing Haley into oncoming traffic when Brown was being pushed out of bounds helped lead to his ouster.

What I expect to happen now that Blount is gone and Harris will be active and Archer still active. Bell will average about 20 carries a game or 65% of the team carries. Ben will have his 1 or 2 scrambles a game. And Brown, Wheaton, Bryant, etc will have 1 reverse or pass thrown behind for a run a game. That leaves about 8 carries a game left for Harris and Archer. I feel at first they split them up 50/50 for a game or two to see who does the most with their opportunity so both better take full advantage of it.

I've said since the whole ******* Archer thread (page 30 or 40 or whatever), that the only value I see coming out of Archer is to run him between the tackles like old-school Warrick Dunn.

**** the trick plays, **** the "return game" (Wheaton is noticeably better on KO's and Brown is 10x better on PR's), **** the "get him into space" rhetoric.

If Archer can't run between the tackles, all that other **** isn't going to work because the defense knows what's coming.

If Archer can't hold up physically for 5-8 measly carries a game, he's a lost cause anyhow.

A player has 10 plays to prove his worth in the Burgh else hes a bust......its the 2nd commandment

10 plays or 2 games... whichever comes first... Unless he is on the bench and not playing... then his potential is greater than every HOFr ever and our coaching staff is retarded for not playing him.... A starter also reverts to suck status after 10 plays or 2 games where he did not accomplish anything.

If Archer wasn't so short Ben would have seen him for a TD last week. :)
