A lot of Steelers fans can't face the reality of how bad Ben really was last year. His passer rating was 86.8, 24th in the NFL, behind guys like Davis Mills and just ahead of Taylor Heinicke and Daniel Jones. His QBR was even worse at 26th, right behind Jared Goff.

Ben ran for five yards in 2021. Yes, five yards. For the entire season. Trubisky had 195 in his 10 starts in 2020. Pickett had 241 yards rushing in 13 games at Pitt...and that includes the subtraction of sack yardage.

As a rational thinker, it's hard for me to imagine either of those two guys (or any combination of their stats) finishing lower than 26th in the league in 2022 QBR.

Who is honest to blame? Was the play crap, and Ben ran it anyway, or did Ben play it his way and it turned out crap?

This season will show the truth. No way in hell, Trib or Pic get the free range that Ben got. This will be all Canada this year.
I also think that Ben played too long, but it is always hard to move on from a HOF QB. Yo always think they have one more year in them.

If Pickett even sniffs the field I’d be shocked. Who knows tho…maybe Mitch pops open a can of suck and then Garrett bashes Mason over the head with a helmet knocking him out and KP gets his chance…stranger things have happened

I guess the more likely scenario is one of turnstyles, ope…I mean tackles gets T biscuit killed then Mason comes out and pulls a Mason and welcomes KP to the lineup

Canada has never been a great OC. Pretty much one outstanding year at Pitt and that's been it. The rest have been meh. Years ago the Steelers had great defensive minds with Capers, LeBeau, Lewis, etc. on staff. I'm not a fan of his defense, but Tomlin has a strong philosophy and even Butler had a good mind. I'm not sure how I feel about Austin as a DC, but I did like him as a DB coach and then they bring in an outstanding hire with Flores. I wish the offense had a QB coach to keep Canada in check.

I loved seeing all the college shirts from the guys arriving today. Probably 4-5 players wearing one and I thought that was cool.

On offense, I'm looking forward to the Dotson/Green battle at left guard as well as who emerges as the No. 3 receiving option. Will they slide Claypool inside and allow Pickens to do work on the outside or will Austin find a role as the slot receiver?

The defense feels pretty set, but things will need to shake out with the depth chart on the defensive line and at cornerback. I think DL is the deepest position on the team right now if all are healthy and ready to go. Cornerback is interesting because they don't have an established No. 1, but some guys who have flashed potential in lesser roles.

Maybe the biggest X-factor is Bush. If he can even just be an average linebacker the defense will be in much better shape.

Berm only has one major concern. OTs. If the tackles can somehow play on an NFL caliber - our offense could be a force to be reckoned with. If it were me - Claypool and Austin would be inside slot receivers and DJ and Pickens should stay outside.

Methinks Bush will play lights out knowing he has a running mate in Jack. The addition of, Roll Tide Levi Wallace is gonna be BIG!!!

I think Mitch Turbisky is going to be just fine but I think this offense is going to have to over-come O'Canada to a degree. If O'Canada's offense sucks come week 4-6 then I'd ditch him mid season and promote or call the offense from there on out. Cowher had the balls and knowledge to do just that and from what many here say, Cowher isn't near the coach of O'l "never a losing season" Coach.

I hope like hell O'Canada has made the biggest step forward of all the players / coaches, tie will tell and I'm looking forward to the ride.!!!

Again, Ben certainly played very well over most of his career, but by the same token, I have to give Tomlin credit when it's due: The Steelers went 18-15-1 during Tomlin-era games in which Ben did not start. So he still has a .544 winning percentage with SECOND- OR THIRD-STRING QUARTERBACKS. And keep in mind that several of those games which Ben missed were at the end of seasons when other starters were resting as well. Trust me, I'm no Tomlin guy, but that record is pretty impressive.

Not sure what you mean by your apartment footing the bill, but DirecTV gave me Sunday Max for free again this year. I called in to cancel my automatic monthly NFL Ticket subscription and complained about inflation. They put me on a brief hold, and less than 2 minutes later, they offered up Max for nothing. Easiest call I've ever had with them; I didn't even have to get transferred to the "retention department" and spend an hour threatening to cancel. Plus I'm already getting $50 a month off my regular bill through January 2023. Give it a try.
