Kupp on the trade market.

Add in a little referee-ism and a swiftly hand job————- they will 4-peat………….

Might take a little more out of Taylor but there is a fine balance of looseness involved.

Slow down the Cheat-peat wagon

My Philadelphia Bulldogs bout to tap Patty’s a$$ and Saquon gonna push em over the top

The Philadelphia team got the right Bulldogs…the ones that led a historic defense to back to back chips (Davis, Carter, Ringo, Smith and Dean who is unfortunately hurt) and their defense became dominant…go figure

Our team on the other hand grabs the Offensive Bulldogs that weren’t so instrumental in those
Championships…Tomlin always finds a
Way to defy logic.

I’m on the Eagle wagon for the win. **** the nfl enhanced chefs and their fans.

My records show I’ve hit the bullseye for the coordinates you gave me, for the last three drops…….. It’ll be a fourth come soon, but also NOT an nfl enhanced version.

Would rather try and trade for D Adams and hit the draft.

Kupp too old and injury prone these days.

We need DL in the draft first.
I would be shocked with what they targeted last year and their biggest need this year if they didn’t go DL in 1
.

I think it would have to be overwhelming value for them to pull the trigger on another position outside of DL.

…regardless in free agency they should look hard at WR, DL, CB and QB.

I hope they just don’t go with the comfy known over a potentially better FA pickup.

News coming out now that LA is willing to eat some of Kupps salary to facilitate a trade. That helps, but still doesn't change my offer much. Maybe a 6th instead of a 7th. But we don't have a 6th this year, will they take next years?

I like Kupp and I think he still has some tread left, but he excels at the routes we don't seem to want to use.

5 is too high? What I was originally thinking….

I really don't have a good enough understanding of the draft pick value to have an opinion on what is or isn't too expensive on someone like Kupp, but he's an upgrade at a very vulnerable position for the Steelers. I trust Omar to do the right thing.

I would imagine with how diligently they went after WRs that he will continue trying to get some upgrades there.

I guess it depends on how they would plan on using him. We spent a 6th on Fields, and a 5th on Mike Williams. We still have Roman Wilson, and Calvin Austin who both play from the slot. So where does Kupp fit? I think it's more of a "hey there's a WR on the market, lets link him to the Steelers" type thing again. Same will be done with QB's until we actually sign and/or draft one.

I see Kupp as a more consistent move the chains type over Austin. Wilson is a mystery at this point.

I would assume he would only upgrade the slot with the need still for a number 2.

I guess I'm just more inclined to use a pick in the draft than to spend one on a 32 yr old rental. Guys like Savion Williams, Isaiah Bond, Elic Ayomanor, Jayden Higgins, Jalen Royals, Antwane Wells, Jack Bech, Pat Bryant, Ja'Corey Brooks...Half of these guys could be had in the 4th or 5th round and would give us more. Especially since Kupp hasn't been healthy since '21. Again, we aren't a player or two away, so why not build thru the draft.

The other thing, Kupp didn't request the trade. This was his released statement:

I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA. Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember. I have taken so much pride in playing alongside my teammates for the LA community, so thank you for embracing my family and making this such a special place for us. 2024 began with one of the best training camps of my career. Preparations start now for 2025. Highly motivated, as healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come. Love you guys..But coming for it all.

So I think it's really a mute point, we're not competing for championships anymore...

The good thing if they get Kupp is he really seems like a good dude. He could be a veteran leader in the locker room from day one. GP is almost out of time but this might help him grow up and treat this game like his job. He's probably the only WR that might be available that isn't a ridiculous diva.

The guy's price tag is way too high for a guy who will play 12 games, catch 65 balls for 800 yards. He's being paid like a WR1. Now if he gets cuts and we can work out a deal, that's great. But then there are 30 other teams competing for his services.

Sounds like Pickens who is going to want top WR money, Pickens played in 12 games, had 59 catches for 900 yards and 3 TD's

Except he did that on a run first team and Kupp on a pass first team, LA averaged 227 passing yards per game, we averaged 192. We averaged 127 rush yards per game, they averaged 103.

I'd pay Kupp for a year at his rate, before I'd resign Pickens for 30 per. I don't want either for their price tag.

If you can get Pickens for 30 per, better sign him. WR contracts have only gone up, and will continue to do so. And with the jump in cap this year, I'm guess Higgins will see 35m+

No way in hell I'm giving Pickens that much, the guy is 50/50 if he's going to be mentally in the game, I'd pay Higgins the 35+plus before I'd think about giving Pickens anything. And we don't have a QB, paying a WR big money without a QB is wasted money. The QB makes the WR, not the other way around. That's why every WR we brought in with Ben seemed to work. Without Ben AB averaged something like 4 catches for 40 yards per game

Pickens catches way more flak than he deserves, mostly because of this media now, not media accurate time we live in. I've never seen him NOT celebrate with his teammates if he's not the one that scores the TD. So he gets frustrated, he has every right to get frustrated, this offense is a joke, they aren't using him right...but this idea of running him out of town because he's like AB is nonsense. Comparing every WR we have to AB is a joke. I don't even compare DJ to AB as far as attitudes go.

As for Higgins, the only season he hasn't missed time being injured was his rookie year, not only that, he benefits GREATLY being across from Chase and in that system they run. He's not the WR1 everyone makes him out to be. He's a WR2. I'm glad he won't be coming here, as there will be a bidding war for him for sure.

Also trying to compare AB's stats with Ben to AB's stats with Landry ******* jones is a joke in itself...

I can't say i agree on Pickens. He doesn't run clean routes and loafs when he isn't involved. He has immense talent, but he isn't a team player or consistent enough to draw pressure away from the run game as he doesn't sell the pass when it isn't pass. He has the ability to be a devastating blocker but doesn't do it.

AB was never an issue in game, AB went 100% pretty much all the time, his effort wasn't ever questioned, Pickens is quitting on plays because he didn't want to get hurt, those are his words. Instead of trying to catch a ball in the endzone vs Cleveland he's to busy trying to fight the DB out of the back of the endzone, half assing it on running plays. He has a ton of talent, but just doesn't care alot of time.

Yeah I brought up AB's stats without Ben because who is going to be throwing Pickens the ball? 30 million dollar WR with no QB, that will send Pickens even more off the mental edge. I wouldn't give big money to any WR right now, until we have a legit QB. Wilson or Fields isn't it, and this draft class is crap for QBs.

I just don't buy the "isn't a team player" nonsense. As for selling the pass when it's a run, I think even he knows that the other teams know when it's a run and when it's not. Him selling it or not isn't what's keeping our running game from being successful. AB wasn't a very good run blocker. Also, they tend to pull Pickens off the field for most running plays and insert Van Jefferson and Skowronek.

There is no scheming him into a mismatch or scheming him open. A lot like the lack of creativity with Watt, the same on the offense with Pickens. Winning cures all, getting a talented WR the ball cures all. I've said it before, he needs fed the way we fed DJ. Not FORCING the ball to him, but he averages almost 3 less targets per game than the average WR1 in the league.

It is a chicken or the egg question then. Do they pull him because he won't do what is required on the run plays? He has the tools to be a fantastic run blocker. I watched a lot of tape, and he even loafs on plays when he isn't the primary read. I want to like him but every season he seems to regress in some ways. Even if it is the coaches making him feel not wanted or underused, I still blame him for not giving it his all on every play. Van Jefferson is half as talented, but he plays hard and same with Skowronek. I am usually the guy to be optimistic and give both players and coaches the benefit of the doubt, but Pickens has lost me from an effort standpoint. He can earn that back but my opinion is he would stay on the field more if he played harder on all downs. Are we predictable because of him or despite him? Smith's offense is predicated on the run and pass plays looking the same to sow confusion. If a receiver is not performing the same on both, it gives the play away. But then so does having to sub him because of that lack of effort, if that is the case.
