This is disturbing news to me even as a Steeler fan...If Lamar has a "pronounced" limp, & his legs are his greatest asset, the dude has no business being anywhere near the field...

LINK HERE: Let's ruin our Franchise QB

Sounded like many of practice situations to me. They will see how he progresses as the week goes and if he can play he will if he can't he won't. That links name stinks of clickbait please look at me at me.

The history of running QB's is as follows:
  • Young and healthy, "Wow, look at that guy GO!!"
  • After first couple of injuries, "God, he is a bad passer. He needs to run more."
  • After no longer a running threat, "He is horrible! Jeez, can't they find somebody, ANYBODY, better?"

If that video in the article is how Jackson is moving right now there is no chance he's playing on Sunday. He wouldn't be effective as a pocket passer let alone as a runner.

If Hairball wants to ruin him, that's on Hairball. I can't stand the Rats.

I dislike the rats as well but I don't want Lamarr ruined until right after he gets his lifetime gauranteed biggest ever NFL contract.

Salute the nation

RGIII, Colin Kaepernick, and Michael Vick say hi.
Running QB's can work in college ball. In the NFL where everyone is in the top 1% of college players and a lot faster, running QB's either get broke in half or defenses figure out how to force them to pass which they typically aren't real good at.

He looks to me like someone took the greatest punt returner of all time and made him play QB.

Except the NFL is now trending away from the pure pocket passer prototype and more towards the mobile QB who can, and will use his arm AND legs to beat you. None of them run to the extent that Jackson does, but, today's QBs have to have the ability to run as well as pass. The game is never going back to the days of Elway, Marino, the Mannings sitting in the pocket all the time and picking defenses apart. You see more RPOs, designed QB runs and rollouts than ever before.

Tomlin has all but said he wants a guy who can use his legs at QB. Given the time they’ve spent scouting Sam Howell I really hope they aren’t considering taking him in the first round. It’ll be interesting to see how much effort they put into scouting Malik Willis as well.

Saw a couple of Liberty games this year. Willis is a good athlete. Had lots of WR drops, etc. He was also pretty inconsistent. One series he'd look like a surefire 1st round talent as far as accuracy, poise, getting outside the pocket and throwing dimes on the move. The next series he'd look like a 4th round developmental prospect; inaccurate, running when all he had to do is step up and hit his receiver, failing to use the check down. Still don't know exactly what to think of him. But, I wouldn't draft a QB in round 1 of this draft anyway.

I’m not worried what you or I would do, lol. I’d consider Willis in the second as well as Carson Strong only because they may be the best available option at a position of need. There’s also little pressure to start as the Steelers will certainly go with a veteran, even if it’s Rudolph.

So, you'd draft a QB in a premium round this year? Interesting
