lawrence timmons missing from the Dolphins breaking news

Meh is he waiver ineligible? I mean if he is available reasonably soon someone else is going to claim him inless he is a total ufa...

Miami Dolphins‏ @MiamiDolphins

We have acquired linebacker Stephone Anthony in a trade with the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a 2018 undisclosed draft pick.

Sounds like this isn't going to end well for Timmons. Loses 4.5 million this season for starters.

Que, OZZY....hoping he is ok. he's at that point in life, where you have to stake your claim. Miami must not have been it.

Come on... this is a GROWN MAN we're talking about. With commitments he made to the Miami organization and his teammates. This is as boneheaded as it gets. He probably turned down a $2 million less offer here in Pittsburgh and now he's out $4.5 million?

He's in the wrong. I don't care how ineptly the organization is run. I don't care if they "disrespected you". You are getting paid millions of dollars to show up and play hard. Anything less and I call it out. Doesn't matter if it's an ex-Steeler or an ex-con or my son. You are a PAID PROFESSIONAL. If you want to retire, if you don't like the risks, if you think you made a career mistake, fine. But do it like a man and say that. Pay what you owe, make amends to your employer and move on.

I don't know as Lawrence always seemed like a reasonable low keyed educated adult man. I doubt we will ever get the true story and I hope he can get it back together again. He still has some gas in the tank. If there was a chance to bring him back I wonder who would get cut to make room. How much would he cost and would Miami really cut him pending cap implications????

Always wondered why he couldn't handle the play calling duties. I'm beginning to understand now. Plus it's hard to call out the play if you're yacking Gatorade.

I would think you could get him on the cheap now. And cut Johnson.

I hope the best for Timmons, but I remember for years he said he'd take less to stay in Pittsburgh and finish his career here. When the opportunity came, he bolted.

It can't be a player beef. No reason to leave because of that. Unless someone banged his girl. I'm thinking it's front office or coaching staff said something reprehensible to him.

Here's the interesting fact of this story, is that if a player went AWOL in the past, the team immediate throws them under the bus. In this instance, silence. That is telling to me, that the organization did something inappropriate that the NFLPA may get involved with. If that's the case, you're looking at a lawsuit.

Well, it was Miami that had the whole "Bully" thing a few years back, so they could be speaking with caution to protect themselves in any capacity.

I don't know that Timmons is more valuable than Johnson at this point in his career Slash. Putting Timmons on the kick coverage team would be like putting Deebo as a back-up long snapper..

You do recall that DEBO was our BEST long snapper at one time?????? right???!!!!!

Nothing against LT his time as a Steeler, but do we know he is right in the head to even consider to take him back? Football may be the furthest from his mind right now to get him right, or maybe not, but something is not right with him. If he gets released, I hope it doesn't further damage him mentally.

Unlike John F Kennedy, we'll never know what went through Timmon's head. Maybe the situation in Miami is that damn bad.

In most cases I agree, but the amount of time he spent with us, and there was never anything like this. Typically when you see this kind of thing, it's not the dude who was issue free for (what was it, 8 years here?) it's the place he went to treating him like ****. If you're used to being respected and treated one way, and then you go somewhere and your new boss is a total dick, it can ignite a bit of rebellion. Ask me how I know. ;) (Worked one place for 13 years, for 3 managers that valued me, and treated me with respect. Less than 5 sick days in those 13 years, did my job, did what was asked, etc. Got a shiny new manager that ended up being a ********, he came very, very close to getting his *** kicked. Now I have a nice shiny new job, better benefits, and managers that treat me right again. Just passed the 2 year mark here, and will most likely retire from this job when I'm able to in, oh, 20 or 60 years, depending on how much it costs to live, haha. I don't ask for much, but start treating me like ****, and it's going to get ugly, fast.). Too many people think paying someone means they can wipe their *** on them, that's NOT how it works.

Timmons is still much better than Williams. I'll take better run defense, and playmaking on defense over 1 player covering kicks.

He is definitely in the wrong, we just all want to know why.

I remember his first and only audition...yes.

Harrison's snap sailed over punter Mitch Berger's head for a game-tying safety in the fourth quarter. Given excellent field position following the ensuing free kick, the Giants drove for the decisive touchdown with about three minutes remaining and a 21-14 victory.

Them were the good times...LOL

Says you coach, I'm not buyin' it and neither are the Steeler coaches.....obviously.

The Dolphins really liked him. Who was better last year Timmons or Williams?

Now I don't know why Timmons skipped a game, that's serious, but if he as a reason and wants to come back to play here for cheap for the rest of the year, he can add to the defense.

I think our goal line defense has been pretty weak. Timmons can help fix that.

GM''s have to take age cost salary cap space future extensions and other issues into account when making up a roster. They decided Williams and his cost were the way to go. At this point it looks like the decision was a good one.
