This team is in dyer need of talent. We need better players. Period. The best way is through the draft. High draft picks that is. Trade Ben(he's wasting his time here) aka Peyton manning for a **** load of draft picks. Go from there.

1. Peyton Manning was never traded.

2. Ben's trade market would probably only net us a 1st, if that, and that's nowhere near a worthwhile haul for your franchise, HOF QB still in his prime.

3. I shudder to imagine this team without Ben.

Just in case he has you on ignore or decides not to read your post... and also because it needs repeated.

I dont think this team is that far behind the rest of the league in talent on offense; defense, yes, we need help. But I still contend that poor player development/poor leadership is the biggest problem with this team.

Your telling me manning was waived?
yes that is exactly what happened...Colts released Manning on March 7 2012...now if you are gonna come here and spew **** ...at least know what the **** you are talking about

The only reason the Colts let Manning go was Andrew Luck.

The only way you move Roethlisberger is knowing you have a great young QB talent waiting in the wings, and the Steelers do not.

Andrew Luck + the impending neck surgeries to Manning that had everyone worried he would never play the game again, including Peyton himself.

Colts would have taken the chance with Manning, which in hindsight would have paid off given his play in Denver, if there was your run of the mill top QB prospect at the top of that draft. Luck, however, was a generational type prospect.

When you're presented with the opportunity to have a Montana/Young, Favre/Rodgers type direct succession at the QB postion, you cannot turn it down.

The stars aligned perfectly for the Colts, almost to a supernatural degree.

I don't know about you guys BUT I sure as hell do NOT want this group in charge of replacing talent at any level. That has been the biggest problem since Tombert started drafting. We have had the high picks but have used them poorly! If we are going to rebuild/re-load...I would rather have someone else picking the groceries.

Exactly. Currently no players are on this team from the 2008 and 2009 draft class. Horrible! Someone needs to be held accountable for this.

I think the team has to commit to him or decide to move on pretty quick. I mean they could make him play out the contract, tag him, and then trade him. But if they think they can make one more shot at a 2-3 year window for a bowl I think you go for it. If you think you are in complete rebuild mold I guess you listen to offers. You never know BA might offer 2 first 2 seconds and a hand full of other picks to get his boy in Pittsburgh West. But I feel you don't trade Ben unless your new coach says it is taking me 2-3 years just to fix the mess Tomlin got us in. In that case it is better for Ben to go somewhere else anyways.

Many teams have made dramatic turn around with change in management while keeping most of the team in tact. Eagles for one come to mind. When Andy left the team was ****. Chip comes in and most of the same team is still there, dramatic turn around. I'm not saying we don't need better talent on this team, what I want to see is a new voice pushing them, educating them,..etc.

Other than another WR I like our offense. Stud at rb, good QB, stud WR and te. Problem is we don't ******* use them! I still remember game one of haley bs den. I said this offense is horrible. Still think that.

Our def has many holes to fill. But how much is dick to blame. How many years does it take to get young talent to play because they can't understand the system. Bs. Shouldn't be that way.

I have hope when/if we clean house of coaches and management.

Do we really have a franchise QB?

Point 2 - Ben will never be a HOF QB, at least not if he remains in Pittsburgh. I don't see the WL percentage getting much better in the next few years with Tomlin and crew and his sandlot style doesn't cut it anymore as he gets older and slower. Now for the "franchise" tag - I see this used a lot but to me franchise is as franchise does. Ten points against J-ville, ten points against Cleveland but only 3 when it counted. Six points against the Ravens. One solid half against Cleveland in the first game, a solid game against Carolina, and an average game against Tampa Bay, which Flacco torched yesterday. Compared to Ben, most of the QBs that have played us this year have had numbers that equal or exceed his productivity.

Yes Ben has trade possibilities, but the #1 coveted player on our team is Antonio Brown ... what does a Top 5 WR get you?

I disagree. There has been a lot of conversations recently by the talking heads in the media concerning sports and HoF players, and they, who are voters, concede that championships dictate who gets in. Ben owns two Rings and competed for another. You will see the day when Eli, Ben, and Rivers are up for consideration and they will all get in. Eli first (SB MVP nod), Ben second, Rivers third as he has no Championships.

Haha trade a franchise qb and then ask Tomlin to draft talent, great kill two birds with one stone

What good is a franchise qb with no talent on a continually 8-8 team?

Mark Mallone
Cliff Stout
Bubby Brister
Kordell Stewart
Mike Tomczack
Tommy Maddox
Kent Graham

There were years upon years where the backup qb was the most popular guy in Pittsburgh. I am in no hurry to relive those grand old days.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing, we are wasting Ben right now, but what good would a high pick do when Tomlin can't use it right?

Sucks but those days may be coming. It is rare to get a franchise QB that can take you to the SB. I would seriously doubt that our first QB after Ben (whenever that might be) will be the one - especially with Tomlin and Colbert making the selection.

Say the Steelers finish 5-11 and a franchise type QB is available with their 1st pick... Too soon to draft a replacement?

Top 4 in total offense and avging 400 yrds total offense is horrible ? They can move it between the 20's all ****** day.......they just cant finish the deal. They rank only behind Dallas in rushing yards in the league. This offense trumps output of New Orleans, Denver, Cincy AND Philadelphia, yet in points per game output it trails the Redskins, Giants and St Louis (w a 3rd string QB). Antonio Brown is 2nd in the league in receptions and has 100-yrds receiving in all but one game. Bell is maybe 2nd, behind DeMarco Murray in rushing yards. So, we are using those weapons like a mutherfucker. We are a famined group in the red zone. If we fix that problem, generate turnovers on defense and eliminate penalties we certainly arent 3-3 at this point.
