LMAO, more Tomlin jibber-jabber,

Again, you're lumping all coaches together, yes they lie up there, but show me what other coaches run their mouth about their defense before the season being historic or can cover any team in the NFL? That's why I'm calling him out, he ran his mouth about how great this defense is going to be, then when they suck, he finds every way to give them an excuse.
Boo-hoo they played in less than ideal circumstances, Cincy was on a short week, missing their franchise QB and best defensive player, doesn't sound like they were playing in ideal circumstances either.
The past weeks it was well this group hasn't been together long, so there's communication issues.
He's been saying stupid things since 2009 to varying degrees. And I get it is frustrating. The guy seems to lack self awareness. You'd think if he didn't learn before last year he would have learned after the "that's why I'm highly compensated" comment. But he doesn't. Calling him out doesn't do anything or he'd have learned long ago also. I guess after all these years I just tune him out. For my sanity. It does help.

Agreed, It doesn't change my day at all, but I'm still going to post the dumb **** he says, it's laughable at this point, it's more for the comedy than it is out of frustration.

I can understand that. Those complaints of same ol’ same ol’ is exactly how many of us feel about Tomlin.
I realize we’re just fans and what we think doesn’t matter which when you think about it really is quite sad.
Afterall what’s the point of all this if the fans don’t matter? Were the ones who follow these teams blindly and spend plenty of money but to be just blown off really stinks.
You would think Art Rooney would want what’s best for his franchise and its fans. I guess it just doesn’t matter!

Great post steelhurt, and thanks for all your great ones along the way.

I’d like to add a little something………….

To Art2, it doesn’t matter as long as the $$$dollar$$$ is generated. Currently, the Steelers are the only team operating

“Ahead of the means” of the NFL. They are a head of the generating of $$$dollar$$$ than the NFL provides generating for.

As long as that ratio is obtained, the Tomlin will be here and the fan will continue to have not meaning other than for the organization to give lip service to.

I delegate that $$$dollar$$$ generation to all the lesser / gambler / participation trophy type fan.

Seasoned fans such as myself and you, can see the true turmoil and are driven further away, Our numbers are dwindling and we are being left behind.

We understand football, the lesser fans don’t and spend wildly in that regards.

But the players blame the players too.
You can read what Heyward said after the Cincy game. Maybe I’m wrong but it doesn’t seem like they blame the coaches or schemes very often, if at all.

Of course the players aren’t going to disparage the scheme / coaching, imagine what would happen to you if you went public about your boss or mission statement.

Generally they wait until their hostage status is over to disparage the GOAT cuz you don’t want to be in SBWHCMVLTCOY’s doghouse…that’s one salty dog once ya get up in his doghouse

Presser crap, said, "they had to play a game in Cincy in less than ideal circumstances" WTF does that mean?
Then he actually said, "I want to give my defense credit for the one stop in the 4th qtr" HAHAHAHA, awesome they made that one stop, way to earn that 160 million!
This guy gets more delusional every week.
How does anyone still support this guy or want him as the Steelers HC? He's out here handing out participation trophies.
The standard is the standard…. Whatever the phuck that is🥴🥴🥴

OK but if we can sit here and pretend to know what the coaches shoulda coulda done, do you believe the players share the same opinions?
I have a feeling they would be amused at all the opinions expressed here.
Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with armchair quarterbacking. Thats what a message board is for. Just saying.

Pretty sure a lot of what is being said is true. The eye test will assist you in this component.

No one here has said they are NFL capable coaches, but to a degree it's easy to see on this Efensive level, the deficiencies in view.

I was listening to Williamson. He said in breaking down the film they did try and do different things on Thursday. Nothing worked. Where he criticized them never going to press man coverage to try and disrupt timing since Flacco was getting it out so quick.

I like Williamson most of the time. I saw that episode too and appreciate the input.

During the game I noticed there was no bumping at the line of scrimmage. Seemed like our guys were playing off the ball to far. That could have been at least one thing to try. I also noticed from what I could see, the same old spot for TJ Watt. For some reason they can't get a little creative?

NOTE: I don't have slow motion capabilities during game time action, unless I go into Spirit World Mode.

And Mark Kaboly who was at the game, and watching from the press box said they didn't try anything different in the second half, I tend to believe him because the best WR in the NFL was wide open all game long.

Yeah none of us know what's being called, or what isn't, but here's one thing that is true, this is the highest paid defense in the NFL, has been for 4 or 5 years and they aren't playing like it, we've been hearing about lack of communication for a few seasons in a row now, so it's every player that comes here can't get the defense, or our coaches suck at teaching it.

The lack of communication excuse is the most frustrating. Part of the reason people say to keep Tomlin is...his communication skills. Something happens come game time I guess.

It's just a bs excuse, which again is why I won't listen. Nobody ever asks for specific moments of miscommunication. That's the question I'd like asked, not that you'd get an answer. "Ok, Mike, you state lack of communication. What was a specific play you can blame on lack of communication, and what was the specific miscommunication?" And then, "Mike, your strong suit is supposed to be communication. Why do you, by your own account, keep failing in this area?"

They don't, but that would definitely not go over well. I'm sure if you ask Ramsey he would say he should have done better covering chase. Players tend to exaggerate their abilities especially when they get older. It's just not realistic to expect a CB to stay with one of the best WRs in the game. I dont think a prime Ramsay could stay with Chase. Cincy had 47 pass attempts and 23 were to chase with 16 being completed. To me any coordinator should have been able to slow that down especially since alot were just plain slants. Chase is a great WR but we made it way too easy

I thought his other strong suit was coaching up defensive backs like Lynch in Tampa and he comes here and can't draft or coach one up to save his life.

As employees would they be “amused”?
As an employee that’s had dipshit bosses before it definitely wasn’t amusing.
The employee just doesn’t say anything until no longer employed cuz a dipshit boss gonna be a dipshit.

But once no longer employed sure ya say something, much like the parade of former Steeler employees that clown the dipshit staff.

Happens in every line of work, but I highly doubt they don’t notice much of the stupidity. They are just hostages and not in a position to say anything about it. Still it isn’t usually “amusing” to have an unqualified dipshit as a boss.

so it's every player that comes here can't get the defense, or our coaches suck at teaching it.

There is also door #3
What’s being taught may just suck

It is a form of an outdated and antiquated system that the league passed by some 15 years ago?

So many ways for the suck to happen, but there has been one constant.

I think so.
Them reading the solutions on this board I think they would be amused at how the “experts” think it should be done. (them presumably mocking, not me!)
Players adore Tomlin, want to play for him, and is a reason for why players want to come here.
I’ve heard Ben criticize him, but I bet other former players still talk highly of him.

Yep, Ben said what most other players have said, there is no plan B with Tomlin.

Yep, Ben said what most other players have said, there is no plan B with Tomlin.

And that makes him fatally flawed to ever winning a championship again, not without bringing in coaches smarter than you,who could take your job.

That would have ever already happened if it was going to happen.

A common misconception imho that players adore Tomlin and want to play for him…if that is the case where are all these players lining up when free agency rolls around?

The Steelers generally pay at or above market value for free agents, and it’s usually past their prime guys that seek the cushy confines of a Tomlin led squad that can’t find work elsewhere.

Players adore money
I don’t see any FAs coming here taking a Tomlin haircut to play for this coach you alleged they “adore”. So who are these players that you assert are coming here cuz the “adore” him?

This team has had to trade for guys to plug gaps because they lack the draw in free agency or they pay top dollar for over the hill guys like Slay.

The only player I can think of that came here because of Mike is Aaron (and that’s because Mike allowed Aaron to work his own timeline, something Mike HaD to do because he’s ****** the QB situation for years). Had Mike not screwed up the QB situation for years he wouldn’t have been painted into a corner with that move, but Coach numbnuts indeed painted himself into that corner.

Sure, a has been hypocritical extortionist like Cam loves Mike…loves him because he can walk right over him like the chump he is.

To your last point there has been a long line of players that have exited and clowned this regime…don’t see too many extolling the virtues of the regime though. Where’s that list? Ryan Clark????
Lmfao every time that boot licker shoots out one of his shyte takes.

Calling him out doesn't do anything or he'd have learned long ago also.
Outward indications suggest that he doesn't learn. Otherwise 19 years on the sideline would have equipped him to evolve with the game. He doesn't. He can't. He isn't a smart man.

Over the past 3-4 seasons, I've progressed to the point that I cannot stand to listen to him speak anymore.

No accountability, always has lame excuses and the same old cliches that he must have learned in high school.

No adjustments, no scheme changes, no clue what he is doing.
And let’s be real again .. all of this was the case a decade and a half ago. He just had Ben and competent coordinators to mask his incompetency.
