Martavis Bryant says he's close - Update - Finally Free

I think we are jumping to conclusions and need to wait this out. I know it's very frustrating, but if MB is clean and just needs to have pieces of his rehab plan approved then it shouldn't take much longer. However, I don't believe our season will be doomed without him, and if we let him go the Cheaters will "miraculously" find a way to complete his process of full reinstatement and he will be on their roster within days. We wait it out and hope for the best.

There is no way this ends well. No way. Martavis has violated the terms of his reinstatement in some capacity and is basically a repeat of Josh Gordon. Us fans are going to have to come to grips with the hard reality that Martavis will never play another down in Pittsburgh and most likely the entire league. A real shame....what a waste of talent. Hope I am way off base but it's not looking good the more this drags out.

What's the tree frog stuff?

I would have a tendacy to agree with you but Josh put himself out there to extend his SUSPENTION dilemma. He was partying extensively, roughed up or a property, connected to multiple reports of shield tarnishing. MB on the other hand has kept himself out of the spot light, done the things needed....... NOW obviously if there is something behind the scene that we don't know about and is justified........ Then MARTAVIOUS needs to be held accountable. When I say accountable I don't mean just to the NFL but also to the FANs as well. We as fans get the absolute m,inimal information possible yet the NFL wants us to follow them blindly. PUT THE ******* TRUTH OUt THERE !!!!!!

I agree with Drink,

However being held accountable to the fans is something we feel conncected too.
Reality is these types of players are more for themselves than the team or fans.
Cannot blame the players. Collect the money and dash. That's a bitter pill to swallow with pro sports.

Enjoy the guys like: Hines Ward, Troy Polamalu, Heath Miller, James Harrison, even Antonio Brown.
Those are career guys who make the Steelers part of their blood.

Hate to say it, as talented Martavis is. His head is not in the game right now. Maybe it's time to move on

did I miss something ? I have only read good things about Bryant this year. I have not read of any setbacks or fear of setbacks

What's the tree frog stuff?

I think it has all but said by Martavis himself that he suffers from depression. That is at least in part the underlying reason for the weed. Last week it came out on instagram with a really sketchy picture of his girlfriend that he took a treatment from this poison tree frog. It is supposed to make you very sick and hallucinate but supposed to come out better on the other side. Some of us are questioning whether it caused a problem with testing.

Martavis Bryant says he's close

Just saw this on the wire;

Steelers' Martavis Bryant: Expected to be cleared to return this week
RotowireAug 6 2017, 20:01
The Steelers believe Bryant (suspension) will be cleared for reinstatement sometime this week, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Analysis:

The most recent report on Bryant came earlier this weekend when NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said that the wide receiver would be eligible to return "once he satisfies requirements" for reinstatement. However, even after Bryant does meet those requirements for reinstatement in the preseason, he'll still have to be cleared once again for the regular season. Regardless, expect Bryant to be eligible for a return to training camp soon, with the deep threat continuing to workout separately until then.

Fingers crossed!

Why the hell don't the steelers employ someone to help players through this process? WTF, these are million dollar investments!

The nfl is just dragging out this process too long. Of course we speculate why.
I'd rather Bryant get any reps in camp/practice. Keep him a go for the long haul.

If he's gone, he's gone(speculation).
The tree frog stuff sounds credible. I'm sure he'll get going soon imo.
The rog is being a dick face pat slobber is my guess

I keep replaying that scene from Young Guns........ Where they eat the payotie plant and hallucinate....

Well via rotoworld, the paper that shall not be named is saying that Bryant should be allowed to practice this coming week. If that is true (and I pray it is), I take back my thoughts on the issue in my previous post. The whole thing is just odd. I hope Martavis learned during his absence what the game of football can do for him and to a worldwide fan base that knows he very well could be the missing link for Lombardi 7. The guy is really, really good...hope this latest information is accurate.

Wow I don't think I've ever seen this board overreact and jump to conclusions this badly before

When he finishes a regular season I will agree. I mean he is supposed to be doing sweet friggen nothing but football right now. So if he was simply not in full compliance, how hard is it to find out what you have to do and do it. And for that matter how hard is it to be prepared so that you are.

It's mind boggling that they don't employ a "life coach" for these young men who may have gone from poverty to NFL super star in the blink of an eye. Not to mention a preservation staff to get to know who these young men are and what influences they have. Then when a situation like this arises they assign a lawyer who, essentially, walks the guy through the process and ensures the team's investment is protected, but fairly punished when they screw up. Fair = Fair.

Yeah because all these young men coming into the NFL just don't know that smoking pot is a no no. This isn't Bryant's fault at all. It is the Steelers fault for not explaining to him with a "life coach" that smoking pot in the NFL is stronger and sternly frowned apon... even after getting suspended and failing numerous drug test in basically 3 straight seasons....maybe Bryant still needs someone to explain the do's and do not's of the NFL. But be very very careful while doing this though....you because he is a man and all.

The only fault the Steelers have made with Bryant was drafting him. Period. They took a gamble knowing his history coming into the draft and it hasn't worked out. The potential is there of course. And anyone upset with the NFL about this....really? To me they are not just trying to get him back into the NFL as a player.. they are also trying to get this young man's life on track apparently. I actually give props to them. His life should be put before his career. For Bryant sake. He obviously has a problem and has not straightened it out prior to these suspensions...Hopefully he is on the right track now. Again.....Props to the NFL for putting his young life as a man and father before the young man as a football player.

Well said stillwrght........well said. There has to be accountability otherwise you end up with what today's society is turning into. NO ONE wants to be held accountable. It's always someone else"s fault and no one is doing it for me. ACCOUNTABILITY !!!!!!!

Sarcasm alert...

Lol, kinda. My post was half sarcastic and half serious. I mean, these posts assuming he messed up again and predicting he never plays again etc. are huge reaches and just jumping to conclusions. But yes this board has done worse

I'll come be a life coach for these guys. Easy money. All it takes is common sense and to walk the line when you need to walk the line.

Your only overhead is a good sturdy stick to whack them on the head with. you could splurge and use a shock collar, I guess.

You have a small window to not have to stay weed free in the NFL, a small window. All you have to do is quit about a month and a half (to be safe) out of a fricken year. Then you get busted like a fricken idiot wow, and turn around and keep smoking. Then comes a mandatory piss test , which your dumbass still can't stay clean from. We can go round n round but Bryant is a ******* full fledged dipshit.
