Matt Canada summed up...

I would like to see Canada have an opportunity with a younger more mobile quarterback and better line. His philosophy isn’t bad. This year, he doesn’t have much to work with. A ****** offensive line and a quarterback that just doesn’t fit what he really wants to do. Kansas City and San Fran run a similar offense to what Canada is trying to get done. San Fran may be in better shape with someone other than Garappalo at quarterback. The Steelers offensive line allows more penetration then Jenna Jameson in a gang bang. For next season, I would sit on the boat with Canada- but he would be on a short leash.
Philosophy isn't bad? Are you serious? 90% of the offense is horizontal. It's either very shallow crossing routes, jet sweeps, or WR screens with the line crowded. His pre snap motion does nothing but Telegraph the play coming. It's a college offense that will never work in the NFL.

I have to agree. An occasional jet sweep works sometimes yet he has the team going horizontal way too often. It just doesn't work in the NFL. The players at this level are too fast. There's a reason the saying has always been to run north and south and not east and west.

Maybe so but Canada hasn't progressed in play calling at all. This offense hasn't found any one thing it's really good at. A new OC should find his base and build from there....... We have regressed and not improved. Help Help Help

Salute the nation
The person I quoted stated Ben didn't fit what Canada was trying to do. I just brought up Canada's statement when he was hired that he was going to fit his system around his players strengths.

Nfl.com article where Tomlin states he has no reservations about Matt Canada's play calling duties........ then goes on to use a learning curve between college and pro levels using an equipment manager as an example..... in this great football ecosystem .. WOW ......... this guy must stay awake at night thinking this **** up

The learning curve between college and the pros is precisely why you don't come into the NFL as a coordinator. You take a job as a position coach first. Obviously Coach Dumbass Coolshades is way too smart for that.

The team has no time for coaching learning curves. Anywho the O isn't trending upward. So that isn't a learning curve... It is failure.

But we appreciate Klemm's efforts and contributions and seek no comfort in the fact that we have tread water for 15 games thus surviving the test of the new 17 game seasons obviously. The standard is the standard and Chris Morgan will take up the torch and be hired from within whether he is capable or not is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things to come and things of that nature. We have an extra day to prepare for Cleveland ....thus giving us 84600 seconds of time to reflect and watch film of Christmas specials

Here is a link to the 4th down play
4th and 1
So many things wrong in that play as mentioned above.

Also in the flea flicker Ben had a guy completely alone to his left who would have easily gone for the 1st down, and he saw it and still went deep for ray ray, ray ray of all people... smh

Jeez. Why do I get the feeling if we all came down with a bad rash Tomlin would tell us all how fortunate we are to have it.

I knew I should've have messed with that girl. Just that bikini and the body under it was something special... Oh wait.... 😁

Mike Tomlin injury report and update on the recent outbreak sweeping Steeler Nation.......

TJ has ribs
Bush has a vagina
Steeler Nation has a rash of heart related problems ....Flat O-lining, arrythmia & 3rd degree heart block

We own it .....we accept it........we seek no comfort in moral victories and will continue to run the same plays regardless of success as I am not concerned with the outcome per se but with the manner in which we conduct ourselves in order to avoid failing on the big stage of life and things of that nature, obviously.

Questions ?

A few observations on the 4th and 1 play :
Ray Ray cannot block. At all. He is either too small or unwilling or unwilling because he is too small.
At the very least if you are going to have him in there, split him out wide on the opposite side of the field to at least take a defender out of the running play.

By the time Najee takes his second step :
  • virtually no player on the right side is engaged in a block.
  • no player is even attempting to 'seal the edge'
  • Green has been blown back 4 yards
  • Leglue is 5 yards down the opposite side of the field - engaged with no one
  • Gentry has engaged with no one and is following the play
  • Ray Ray has engaged with no one and is following the play
  • Claypool has taken out his own player - Trai Turner - and they both fall in a heap onto the ground
  • Okorafor has pulled and is left to block 4 Chiefs - while trying to lead Najee

A complete clusterf_ck.
