NFL Network says he is gone from Buffalo.
What's new?Ryan Clark is going to be very confused
The one thing Pittsburgh has is a track record of sticking with its coaches. I don’t think anyone is dumb enough to think we are going to be a playoff contender next season. This is a rebuild from the ground up and a new coach can be part of that build knowing he’s not going to get canned in 3 years.Another job opening that is far more attractive than Pittsburgh.
I was expecting this. Kudos to Buffalo for recognizing they need a head coaching change to help get them over the top vs going 9 years with the same result like we have. They have a hell of a quarterback in place, they just need a different vision-especially on defense. Head coaching opportunities with QBs like Allen and Lamar in place should be the hottest jobs next to Pittsburgh for tenure. If I were Buffalo I would take a strong look at Mike McCarthy. No rebuild would be needed, he would be a good fit with Josh Allen and he would know what coaches/personnel to bring in.It's official...
Firing him is a bad thing for us. That's one more hot coach that will take that job alll day over ours.I was expecting this. It just reminds me of Kermit De Frog...Funny thing, every time I hear the name McDermott, I keep thinking of the old Pittsburgh DVE Morning show skit with Paulsen and Krenn-Bust *** Coffee...
Really? Given the expectations, there's a huge chance either or both Buffalo or Baltimore will be sacking their new coach within 2 years. They haven't sacked their coaches because they are happy with playoff wins and AFC Championship appearances - both teams ownership want Super Bowl appearances sooner rather than later and I don't think their new HCs are going to be given a lot of time to get there.Another job opening that is far more attractive than Pittsburgh.
These places should be looking at a retread such as McCarthy, not so much Baltimore, but if I'm Buffalo I'm putting him at the top of my list. He has a 2-3 year shelf and I don't know when the contract for Allen is up. He was 12-5 for multiple years in Dallas but was 1-3 in post season, of course, I do believe a lot has a lot to do with Prescott folding like a chair in 2 of them and 1 of the games having Cooper Rush. He did reach 4 NFC Championship games with beating the Steelers in 1 of them in the Super Bowl. Allen could be the best QB he coaches in his career next to Rodgers, no knock on Prescott.Really? What makes Buffalo or Baltimore more attractive???Another job opening that is far more attractive than Pittsburgh.

Chris Shula’s price tag just went up again.Firing him is a bad thing for us. That's one more hot coach that will take that job alll day over ours.
They have the main pieces in place for a run. They should attract the retread coaches or want the short term coaches before they decide it's time to tear it down. Of course, anything is possible in the searches. Heck, Jon Gruden should be in play for these 2 teams who want a championship now. What makes Buffalo or Baltimore more attractive???
Both have aging QBs, who haven't delivered when it matters.
Both have RB1s with worn tires.
Both have owners who have far less patience than the Rooney's.
Yeah. That's attractive...
Exactly... the McCarthy option baffles me.They have the main pieces in place for a run. The Rooneys want someone or hope to have someone young and long term. Makes me scratch my head as to wonder why they're bringing McCarthy in for an interview-unless it's to fill something else in???
Bills on average wins one more playoff game than the Steelers. They fired the coach who couldn’t win one more. What makes Buffalo or Baltimore more attractive???
