Miami Dolphins Vs Steelers Monday Night Pregame thread

During their win streak, im not sure Tua has had more than one game over 200 yards passing... its all run with them
Also, during their four game win streak, it started with a slumping Bill’s team and then continued with three of the worst teams in the league Jets commanders and Saints. Not necessarily in that order, but you get the gist.

Got free tix so I’m going. First Steelers home game since 2021 Bears game when the Bears last second 65 yard FG attempt bounced off the crossbar.
Dress warm it is going to be cold really cold…

The high on Monday is supposed to be about 20. It will prob be about 15 or so around gametime. Several years ago I went to a Thursday night game with my friend and it was frigid and snowing. In the stadium I was fairly warm, but the walk to the ferry and the ride across the river was brutal.

We assume every game under Tomlin as a gimme Lose.

Also I heard dolphins are psycho pervs, so you definitely shouldn't go sleeping on them.

Add in the cold weather and they just may be wearing trench coats.

Do not go to sleep on the Dolphins. No one is expecting anything from them so they will be loose and focused.
After a horrible start you have to give them credit for not tanking and continuing to fight.
This is a typical Tomlin scenario where they win a big game the previous week and have a letdown the following week.
Fins have solid running game and Steelers are one of the worst stopping the run.
Pay attention to Aaron’s blind side with the fourth string left tackle now your starter. Could be a big problem.
Dolphins will double up on Metcalf and force the rest of the horrible WRs to beat them.
Steelers should rely heavily on the running game this week, something they’ve seemed to abandon lately.
Where the hell is the rookie RB Caleb Johnson?
Where is Roman Wilson?
Why are they neglecting Muth?
Be careful guys. I absolutely do not trust this Tomlin led team.
They can run the ball and stop the run....this is a big problem of course. They can also pressure the QB with four rushers.
The Ravens had to run a single high safety in the last game and keep the other in run support that's what allowed Rodgers time and he and DK to feast. That probably won't be the case this week.

On the positive side Tua sucks and as others have stated on here he doesn't like the cold. If they include Thielen and the tight ends in this game we might have our way with them as their secondary is average at best. Hard to call this game.

A win here will narrow the path to never a losing season, in case you haven’t heard.

We can't stop the run. They will run it right through our defense that only goes for the strip, not the stop. They won't care about the cold. With TJ out we don't have a good chance. TJ may be done.

Sawyer is a natural run stopping olb, so him playing more may be ok against this particular Offense

I don't think having more Sawyer and no TJ is good in any way. Everyone keeps saying TJ is having a down year, and yeah that's true, but he's still commanding 2 guys every play, 3 guys on some plays if you count the guy chipping him. Teams aren't going to put two guys on Sawyer.

Sawyer gets a whole game to prove himself. Go kid!

Expect something out of the ordinary to happen.
Was there any Monday Night game vs the Dolphins that went uneventful?

I first mentioned the 3-0 mud bowl victory in 2007, but before that on Monday Night in 1995 Greg Lloyd came through on his promise to “knock Dan Marino into next week”.
Marino had to leave the game with a bruised chest but later returned.

We lost that game though.

I don’t look upon this quite as bleak as this.

I think with the extra day our coaching staff may be able to scheme a little of “take the run away” into the game plan. They won’t be able to pass so all they got left is to run.

Slow that run down, jump to an opening drive lead and they will need to pass. Our offense could be the key with long, time killing drives. We are pretty good at opening long drives that may not lead to a score.

With all that being said, we will be geared to defend the pass and try to stop the run as an after thought.

Highsmith will be their target, might only be playing straight up due to not needing to double team anyone.

There is a reason why we suck in TJ’s absence, the other OLB don’t require the attention TJ does. Also our coaching staff can’t compensate with blitz packages to offset that.

Well we are 1-10 all time without Watt or something, but the Tomlin apologist will say, "well you can't expect him to win with back up LOLB" Like they say he shouldn't be expected to win a playoff game because of his QB's.

When Myles Garrett won DPOY over Watt after not having a single sack in his last six games, the reason given was that Myles was always double teamed.
That must mean Watt should receive it over Myles this year.

Biggest snub since Gretzky being named MVP over Mario in 89, Watt lead him in every single stat, and the team was better too.
