So why does a blocked FG have TD capability, but a returner touching the ball recovered by the kicking team results in being dead at the spot of recovery?

Seems to be both recoveries should have the same rules applied.

Because the NFL sucks these days. They've created so many weird rules, they don't know which end is up.

Most weird NFL rules come from safety issues in the early days of football... kickoffs and PR always had high injury rates so maybe its something pertaining to that

I'd say because of the way the teams are lined up on a field goal attempt versus punt or kickoff. On a blocked field goal, the kicking team still has the chance to defend a lost ball, whereas a kick return, the receiving team are usually upfield of the returner to block, therefore there is virtually no chance of defending a lost ball.

You guys think if things keep going the way it is for Dallas that they'll soon see the other side of Pickens??

Wasn’t the guy who just recovered the fumble out of bounds and then came in and recovered it. I didn’t see him get forced out of bounds before reentering. Didn’t know you could do that

Possibly, but I think he’s gonna toe the line till he gets his money. But if anyone is dumb enough, it’d be him. Too bad cause he’s so damn talented.
He's averaging two more targets per game with Dallas than he was with the Steelers, and his average catch rate is 10% more, so as long as that continues I think will probably be happy with his situation.
