First Mock I saw had the Bama TE going to us but falling to 30. I think they have to take edge rusher
No choice. Unless they score in FA but I can't see that.

This would be a great draft.

Well getting 1/4 of the Alabama defense and their TE would be good. I'd imagine a little unrealistic. Though I think the Steelers have missed the boat on Bama players.

I think they will be more active this year than any other because they can and they need to be.

I believe they were saying Demarcus Ware is a free agent. do you make a play for him. a 1 year contract, put all your marbles in for just 1 year to win a Championship. I think next year is it for Ben, I think this was his way of saying, pull your check book out, give me the players I need to win it all. because this is it.

Yes this is the time you open the check book, you bring in a pass rusher and a cover corner.

What about throwing some money at Eric Berry?

What about throwing some money at Eric Berry?

They won't do it and not the greatest weakness on the team. OLB and CB is.

One of each is needed. Do that in free agency and in the draft you can concentrate on BPA.

OJ will be gone but possible that good looking Miami TE will be there............

No, no, NO to Peppers.
I watched his entire career at Michigan.
Jack of all, master of none.
We don't have time for a 3+ year project to find out where he'd fit best and get him acclimated there.
PASS!

You literally described Hines Ward's career at Georgia. Pretty sure we're glad we drafted him.....

Ok, just insert Budda Baker instead of Peppers.
That would be a great haul if we could land a good TE in FA. I'm of the opinion Green is not coming back.

Peppers will disappoint as a traditional safety. He needs to either bulk up a bit and play LB or be a hybrid LB/S like many teams are now using. Look at how high Keanu Neal went last year. Lots of teams want an active safety.

But where do you position him with us?

Well depending on his size at the combine as well as his times I feel he can be a hybrid player similar to Neal as mentioned but also Tyrann Mathieu (except Mathieu plays safety and corner), I'd have Peppers as a nickel safety LB hybrid where he can cover RBs, TEs, and even slot WRs while still being strong against the run in the nickel at least early in his career with the intention of moving him towards replacing either Mitchell if he is lighter, or Timmons if he comes in heavier and can put on more weight. He's a playmaker and this defense can always use more playmakers. Regardless this was a mock draft based on precombine, preworkout, and premeasurements evaluation. I'll have a better idea of who I'd zone in on in the coming months. But at this point I would be happy to get Peppers especially since at pick 30 he provides value, need, and BPA.
