Mock Draft Thread - 2017

from first-pick, No trades:

Round 1 Pick 30: Carl Lawson, DE/OLB, Auburn (B+)
Round 2 Pick 30: Adoree' Jackson, CB, Southern California (A-)
Round 3 Pick 30: Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson (B+)
Round 3 Pick 41 (COMP): Chris Godwin, WR, Penn State (A)
Round 4 Pick 29: Kareem Hunt, RB, Toledo (A)
Round 5 Pick 29: Nate Gerry, SS, Nebraska (D)
Round 6 Pick 29: Jeremiah Ledbetter, DT, Arkansas (A)
Round 7 Pick 30: Treston DeCoud, CB, Oregon State (C-)

the only thing that I regret is not getting a S earlier but the temptation of getting a big target for Ben's final years was too much.
I think those three O picks would be of immediate help for the team

I like it but I'd change the 3rd and 6th for a WR and S. We already have Dupree, can't play 3 OLBs at the same time

I believe with OJ in the first, WR is a far less need, and I think we should be prepared to take a QB with potential to develop and I don't see how Mahomes in the third could be a complaint. Granted I wanted a safety, it just didn't fall that way when I was picking. Mathis and Rivers are more settled edge rushers, while with Bowser you have a guy that can wear many hats, but I preferably want him to become our future at OLB. I wouldn't have taken a third edge rusher in most situations but Mathis was simply too good of value to pass in the 6th. Thanks for your opinion though.

with the 3rd I meant a S instead of Rivers. Dupree + Bowser can be your bookend OLBs for the long run

Got ya, yeah I don't think there were any S I liked at that spot, the only ones in that range I like so far are Lorenzo Jerome, and Justin Evans were gone. Eddie Jackson and Desmond King were long gone by the 2nd Rd, so other than maybe Josh Jones I didn't see much in the way of value meets need at the S position for that 3rd comp pick

it happened to me too in my mock, had to settle for Gerry in the 5th, but I get you, there was better value elsewhere

I have traded up and down in 1 all fun within the game.

I doubt the Steelers do that though.

Not that it should detour playing the game like anyone wants.

Now what I find curious is with that extra pick do they trade up with it?

I am thinking probably not.

But if ever there was a time to trade up, IMO it is with a extra pick.

I would trade up in the second round to secure having two top 50 players only if you see that your big board is thinning out. If we go OLB in the first then you can still get a top CB or WR by trading up and still have our own 3rd to get the other position.

Still there's enough talent in this draft that having 4 players before round 4 is a great position to be

Nice avatits, err avatar
