The prospect of bringing Justin Fields back after an encouraging stint in 2024 is a positive for Pittsburgh, but throwing one dart at the position isn't enough. Jaxson Dart has separated himself as the QB3 with his pro-ready accuracy, confidence, experience, and athleticism. He doesn't have a high upside, but being a steady, borderline Pro Bowler could be enough to give the Steelers to win a Super Bowl.

22) Los Angeles Chargers: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

23) Green Bay Packers: Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina

24) Minnesota Vikings: Azareye'h Thomas, CB, Florida State

21. Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss
83. Anthony Belton, OT, NC State
123. Denzel Burke, CB, Ohio State
211. Dont'e Thornton, WR, Tennessee
229. Queer Robinson, LB, @bermudasteel

3 Devin Neal, RB, Kansas
4 Will Howard, QB, Ohio State
5 Dont'e Thornton, WR, Tennessee

Did 5 rounds…

Caldwell is a NT, fine drafting him there but the Steelers can’t go into another season with no Cam replacement. Benton is a decent guy, he’s not stepping in when Cam is done.

Need to get back into the 2nd round, here with a trade back:

1.29 Omarion Hampton, RB, NC
2.61 Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama
3.83 Alfred Collins, DL, Texas (Cam replacement)
4.123 Dylan Fairchild, IOL, UGA
5.156 JJ Pegues, DL, Miss (NT)
5.183 Malachi Moore, S, Alabama
7.229 Dont’e Thornton, WR, Tenn
7.245 Cody Simon, LB, OSU

Not so sure anymore about Benton. Down the stretch that Dline looked highly suspect. Not so sure just DXing Larry and adding a draft pick will make the unit into a strength. Maybe moving Benton to DE might work but sometimes moving people around ends up showing they are deficient in two spots…

I would vomit if that was our draft, plus whoever mocked it doesn’t even know Fields signed with the Jets. Horrible. If I was in charge I’m taking Walter Nolen all day long. He’s gonna be a stud. We can get our QB next year.

This year should tell us if he’s here to stay or an average dl. My opinion is he’s not suited to NT, I know this is not a revelation. He’s a hair short of 6’4” with 34 inch arm length, 310 (probably more) and needs to move out. Draft Grant for the middle. Benton is just 23 years old, Hayward didn’t get much time until his third year but I understand there was a different mentality regarding rookies 15 years ago.

I’m holding positive vibes for Benton and 2025, vs. the run and collapsing the pocket. Grab Grant and I think there will be a dramatic improvement defensively.

Need to get back into the 2nd round, here with a trade back:

1.29 Omarion Hampton, RB, NC
2.61 Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama
3.83 Alfred Collins, DL, Texas (Cam replacement)
4.123 Dylan Fairchild, IOL, UGA
5.156 JJ Pegues, DL, Miss (NT)
5.183 Malachi Moore, S, Alabama
7.229 Dont’e Thornton, WR, Tenn
7.245 Cody Simon, LB, OSU

Collins is a completely different type of player than Cam. He's a true NT, and would still leave a spot vacant on the line when Cam hangs them up. He also struggles in passing situations, Cam is an all around player, stout against the run, and can rush the passer. The only thing drafting Collins would do, is push Benton to the outside where he should have been the whole time, Pegues would then be the guy to take Cam's spot, or at least back him up until they do find his replacement. I'd rather draft CJ West, he might be a bit smaller, but he's still a NT with pass rush ability, meaning he doesn't HAVE to come off the field on passing downs, even tho that's what will happen to anyone playing NT for Tomlin.

He is stepping in because larry is done..
We might see Leal move back to DL as well. He's the forgotten man. He was raw coming out, saw flashes here and there. They moved him to OLB, and then got hurt. But he's got decent size, I think he's too big for OLB, unless they have him as a pass rusher, run stuffer only and don't ask him to cover.

6’6” NT? He’s rated pretty highly, maybe a better fit in a 4-3. Pegues doesn’t have Cam’s measurables, short, T-Rex, but I’ll leave it to you guys, I don’t scout players or put a ton of thought into it, just picking the guys where they fall in the simulator.

Agree with the last bit, read a laughable stat about how the Steelers played almost exclusively nickel (no NT) while the Ravens ran Henry down their throat from their heavy formation all game.

We straight up have a poverty coaching staff.

6'6" 335lbs, he's a nose for sure. And with Pegues, I'm not saying he IS the guy, but if you're drafting him, he would be the body that would be in that spot until you do find someone. I like Collins, he's just not going to fill anyone but Adam's or Benton's spot (moving Benton to the end where he should be). If you're looking for a straight up Cam replacement, you have to take Nolan in round one. If you're looking to strengthen a unit and maybe groom a replacement, you go Grant or Harmon in one, and TJ Sanders, Darius Alexander, Shemar Turner, or Jordan Farmer in the 3-4 round range. If you go Nolan in one, you could grab West in the 4th.
