I was just thinking (I know bad thing to be doing) that we have one home game left this year on Monday night, January 3rd. This very well could be Ben's last home game in a Steelers uniform. Damn! This **** is getting real. I loved Bradshaw but Ben has been the franchise's best QB. He should easily be a first-ballot HOFer. Steelers fans will miss him when he's gone. I will miss him when he's gone. I wish I lived in the Burgh and had tickets to the game. ****!

P.S. Hopefully, Tomlin will let Ben go no-huddle the entire game or at least a good portion of it so they can light up the Clowns one last time.

Totally hear yaz TDX27, he will be missed greatly. Easily one of the BEST the STEELERS have / had / ever. All time great amongst the great players both past and present.

As for this being his last year, some here hope so and others think maybe one more year. I'd take another year in retrospect of Rudolph or a draft pick. They may bring in a vet but at what cost? We need to get through '22 so as to draft a QB next year and BEN may be the stepping stone to get there.

AND

With the OL improvements that should come this offseason, BEN would be a way better / different QB minus the O'h Canada factor.

Salute the nation

Wouldn’t you love it if Ben just said **** it, and called his own plays for the last few games. With or without coaches permission. Not sure what’s happening there regarding the virus and public games, but I really hope there will be a packed house.

I have a hard time calling Ben better than Bradshaw, or vice-versa for that matter. What makes it interesting is that Bradshaw would have been great in this era, but Ben could have definitely been great in Bradshaw's era. I don't know if you can say that about too many of today's QBs.

I am hoping he is back next year.he is not the problem
Just imagine what he, Najee, and the rest of the O would be doing if the line was just average this year. Ben is typically getting destroyed in the first half of games (taking probably more hits than at any point in his career) and has been able to produce big numbers late in games to bring the team back when it matters most. Yet, you will still have people blaming him for everything.

All the talking head outsiders and idiot fans that blame everything on Ben while not even addressing the leagues 32nd best OL and a completely inept coaching staff are really getting tiresome with that narrative.

Bradshaw was a great QB, but Ben is better in my opinion. Saw them both play. Ben has not gotten as many rings, but then again, he did not have the supporting cast Bradshaw had. Keep in mind also, Ben has never been bad enough to bench. I distinctly remember Bradshaw being benched early on a couple of times. Once with Hanratty taking over and once with Gilliam. And it may have been more than once. Took Terry a while to find his groove. Plus he had that terrific OL and after a couple years, he had Franco in the backfield.

@Hines57 gonna go big time big spender that weekend!

Yep - already getting sad. lol. Been wearing the #7 home or away jersey for 18 years now watching games. Throw in a couple bumble bee jerseys.
Make the playoffs...one more year.

This is an inconsistency that drives me nuts. And I want to emphasize that I think Tomlin needs to go before I say what I'm gonna say next.

On one hand a lot on here have said that Tomlin has wasted all this talent over the years but then you state Ben didn't have the level of supporting cast that Bradshaw did.

Those two views are counter to one anther.

I'm not sure Bradshaw would have survived in today's world of social media. I don't think he would have made through his early seasons when he was struggling. His ego was so fragile at the time.

That's a really good point. Also, I would like to see Ben call all of the plays in his last game as Steelman said. Just let the guy do his thing if it's his last - he's pretty damn good at it.

Bradshaw will be quick to remind you that he called his own plays. Let Ben do it once.

While Ben has had some very talented teams around him, it's hard to argue that Bradshaw didn't have the better cast his entire career, PLUS one of the greatest coaches of all time.

They said it during the broadcast of the titans game, Ben leads the league in fourth quarter passing.
Att Comp % Yards Avg TD TD% Int Int % Lng FD 20+ Sck Loss Rating
16011169.41,2337.7106.210.65253181274110.2

Those are very impressive numbers. He is definitely not the issue...

^^^now if we could just convince the other teams to not start until the 4th quarter we’d be cookin’ with gas

Or just let Ben sling it from the jump and start with Canada in well...Canada

I think Ben would come back under the right conditions. I just don't see this oline protecting him even next year, and Canada will never let his ego allow Ben to have more control in this offense.
