More flexibility in draft

Perhaps that man corner can also upgrade the coverage in zone. Is that an impossible task? If not corner they also can go S because I think the team can still upgrade coverage there as well.

Also remember you want to be scheme flexible. Being able to make adjustments to what is not working in game can help win a game.

Remember none of this is my utmost desire. Trenches and improving the offense is that I am just spit balling scenerios and BPA possibilities.
Agreed and believe secondary in some form be it safety (depending on Kazee and Edmunds) or Corner depending on what they get back there will be essential. Certainly one of the first three should e a DB. I am expecting a lot out of WJ3. 😁😄

You are going to give Coolie a woody.

Positions we don't have to draft next year:
QB
RB - With 2 locked in the 3rd can be a vet or an UDRFA
TE1 - Gentry has to be resigned, if not, we'll be drafting a TE2
FB - Conner Heyward is the FB of the future here.
DE - With Heyward Returning and Leal and Loudermilk developing, we have good replacements there
FS - Fitz has it locked and Karl Joseph or KZ can lock down the backup slot, you just have to resign one, and I'd lean toward KZ.

So we have to focus on the following positions:
NT - Adams is solid but we can use an upgrade
OL - They are gelling but we could use some competition and C is my focus
WR - Steelers will draft a WR, it's what we do and we are low on depth since Claypool was traded. I also don't know if CA3 will ever see a full year healthy. And make for damn sure to draft a WR that is a great KR/PR, we haven't had a weapon there since AB stopped his returning duties when he became the stud WR.
SS - I hear people calling to resign Edmunds, and it may happen, but we need speed and playmaking next to Minkah. Watching Hamilton last night and seeing him develop as an athletic, talented SS made me pine for when that was a priority here in Pittsburgh. A SS that can bang at the LOS and get to QBs is a weapon we don't have.
CB - Either put Sutton in the slot (if we can re-sign him) or draft someone who can play it. Something we normally don't do. So the option is picking an outside corner as well and bumping Sutton inside.
ILB - I'm feeling much better with Spllane (if re-signed) Robinson, and Jack entering next year so we can draft for depth
OLB - Depth, need a splash player off the bench if anything happens to Watt or Highsmith

I agree with plenty of this Stryker but would be plenty happy with Edmunds return on the cheaper side. They cannot all be stars. He was right there but got fairly abused by Andrew's but everyone else covering him was worse. I think Edmunds is durable and solid.

Not sure Loudermilk is developing either but yeah. Thought Edmunds showed some heart to go along with overall improved play.

Never reach for need in the first, and never select a running back in round one.

My choice is BPA.

Addison could be there...which would be an interesting decision for the Steelers.

You are talking about a 5th round 6-5 probably 3 tech. I'm talking about a mountain 0-1 Tech. I'm saying if you want you could sign Larry O and push that need back. When you spend capital in the two to three range. Yes he is plug and play.

A massive yet agile 0-1 is going to cost a ton in free agency or require a reasonably high draft pick. Ika and Smith fit the bill, likely need to be taken 78 or earlier.

Or we go with Ogunjobi again and cross our fingers it works out and somebody equivalent to Ika or Smith can be found 46 or later in 2024. I go with the former. Use the #33 pick as the means to address the 0.
