I think the Noll and the players had more to do with the SB victories than that one catch. How many HOFers were there again?
Too damn much pro bowlers/HOFers. Lambert, Ham, Webster, Bradshaw, Harris, Swann....jeesh and there's more to name

Wtf? Don't talk to me anymore!I was born in 89. Lol.
Bradshaw to Lynn Swann / Cowboys SB
didn't want it not to be mentioned............
I'm not talking pro bowlers...I'm talking Hall of Famers....one catch didn't make those 1970's teams. Noll and those players did.
I corrected myself. But that's just how talented the 70s team were for their time
So you still think that the 70's teams might not have happened if not for the IR?
How many teams have a freaking qb making a tackle to save their super bowl season as a top play? What's amazing is the quantity of GREAT plays the steelers are involved in. I bet if you take the history of the NFL and great plays you would find the STEELERS dominate those also. Hell, one of the turning point plays of a super bowl involved Jack Lambert putting a Cowboy down in protection of a mocking tap on our kickers helmet. I would venture to say we have 6 or more of the top 20 plays in the history of the game. What a fortunate fan base we are.

This ^^
Watching it live, I could not believe that Swanny caught the pass. Bradshaw threw a freaking fastball, high, and Swann snags the ball to end the game.
Yeah, yeah, some time remained but the Steelers were up 35-17 and the Cryboys were down to relying on onside kicks. For those that did not see the game - the Girls scored a meaningless TD, recovered the 1st onside kick, and scored another TD, as otherwise the final is 35-24 and shows that the Steelers kicked the Girls' ***. (Noll on the sideline was screaming about the onside kick ... Steelers got the second one.)

Oh, and as to the poll question ... not close. The Immaculate Reception. I was living in Northern California at the time, and was 11 years old. EVERYBODY in school but me was a Raiders fan. That play was so monumental in so many ways, not the least of which was me not having to take **** from classmates for the next several years. Quite the opposite - I was the ****-giver.
So NE never wins if not for the tuck rule?
I give the yinzers another classic Steelers gif - a gif to show why I had 2 Steelers jerseys when I was growing up: #32 (Franco) and #58. Lambert.

That's great, that's why I didn't get why so many fans got so pissed at Porter for punching William green of the browns in the mouth for spotting on him during pre game in 2004 or 2003, if Lambert did that people would still be going crazy about it, and does anyone honestly think Lambert would've walked away from a Brown if that happenedI give the yinzers another classic Steelers gif - a gif to show why I had 2 Steelers jerseys when I was growing up: #32 (Franco) and #58. I've often thought what would have happened. Everything they did was and had was unproven to that point. Confidence in winning can not be overstated.

So at 11 years old you knew what this play meant to the city of Pittsburgh and their football team while living in north Carolina? Ok
Same thought here. But I do gotta agree with Stillwright in that the talent level is what makes the championships come. In the pats way. They cheated
So, all aside, you gave a ****......................LOL
YES that immaculate reception was as big a news as anything at that time. THE STEELERS win !!!! I Remeber it like yesterday. I think JFK started his speech "Ask not what you can do for your country, but what you can do for the STEELERS". The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor because they had so much money on that game and couldn't accept the out come, Mad Max had visions of that catch and that is what drove him to win the Thunderdome contest.......
SERIOUSLY, that was the biggest thing in the news at that time.
Salute the nation
My point exactly !!!!!! GREAT PLAYS
