I really do not understand your criticism of Beachum at all, especially since it seems to excessively revolve around one play.
I do not see him getting help as frequently as you claim he does. He needs to improve in the running game, but I think he does a really good job in the passing game
It may sound harsher than intended. My point is even though he is tremendously flexible position wise he is very week compared to other tackles we have had, Gandy, Smith, Starks. He needs lots of help and it is seen on nearly every play, sometimes the help is not lined up but motioned to his side. This is the same for all of our present tackles so I am not trying to pick on him, just trying to point out that they are all in the same boat so to speak. Beachum seems like a great kid and team mate but was not chosen to be an NFL left tackle. The fact that he is shows what a hard worker and over achiever he is but he is still about 30 to 40 pounds smaller than one would like at the position. He also has a lot less power than one would like in an offensive tackle. Think back to when we had Flozel and Max at the tackle spots, they did not get overpowered. Max blocked Dumerville all game and folks said he doesn't look like he is all that good, Dummerville.
I would like to see all of our guys get better, and was just trying to include Beachum in the group for improvement.
