My daughter's girlfriend asked me about socialism and communism.

What's the system called where the government spends lots of money, doesn't require taxpayers to pay for it and creates debt for future generations?
That's the system we have now. It's not socialism, communism, capitalism. Possibly freeloaderism.

You're right. So you agree the federal government should cut WAY back on spending right? Right?

Let me guess, you think the solution is the government should confiscate more than the 30-40% of GDP it already does.

Great posts wig.

The problem is kids get the exact opposite messages through their entire education and from all of the social media they consume. It's hard to combat.

I remember the Depression I went into when I saw the numbers while working as a PM for Economic Research firm.

Loved the job, hated seeing the reality of the data. Honestly that’s when the “quick fix” mentality we have today started. The entire country needed to do a debt restructuring at that point & would have come out on top in 2 years. It’s like the team that overloaded on the salary cap with restructuring deals finally has to face the music for couple seasons before can rebuild.

No, we didn’t “print” money; we just magically created it out of thin air. Literally. And have it to the big banks. They used loopholes to keep it. Ugh, I need a drink.
