Najee: is he top 10?

2 more years at the production of the first 2 and the Steelers will NOT be offering him an extension.

I hear what you are saying but I can’t ignore the investment the TEAM has made into the OL. That investment will pay dividends assuring a better production in the RBs. That investment wasn’t made for failure intent, so either Najee produces or quite possibly could be released.

My earlier comment reflected the investment and with it, the production expected.

Both of our speculation(s) could be right or wrong, but to much has been invested in money and draft to expect failure.

I'm concerned about 22...

Now he is taken it upon himself to be the spokesperson for downtrodden disenfranchised NFL running backs...

If there's one thing that will get you a first class ticket out of Pittsburgh....it's that..

Is he top 20? NO. He is the only projected starting running back in 2023 who averages less than 4 yards a carry ( both seasons ) and has a crappy 5.6 yards pre catch in 2022.

You won't find worse in the 31 other projected starting backs in 2023

Warren could take his role sometime this season.

Outside of injury not happening.

Coach, that "what have you done for me lately" also applies here. The past is turmoiled with the disarray of the offensive line (both years).

Let's show a little patience and see what this new and improved line can do to help said RB.

My feelings are the Najee will improve dramatically with this new OL and investment to the running game.

My BIGGEST concern is the O'Canada affect that has yet to be seen.

I would be willing to step out on a limb here and say I think the front office feels otherwise. As fans, we see then stats but the owner sees the day to day and the effort along with the state of the team.

This season needs to be a very good year both on his effort and durability.

When you need to start talking about effort that means there is an issue with production. There’s a reason the “effort” guys in hockey are the fourth liners and not the stars producing points.

Harris will also be 27 in his fifth year. If he actually looks like a first-round RB this year and next, I’d at most only consider a 2-3 year deal.

If it's 4.9 vs 3.8 and they look the same as they did last year its only a matter of time.
but
If Najee shows improvement and Warren plays as well as he has I expect a full timeshare.
If Warren outplays him again bye bye Najee

If that clearly happened then yeah after his contract ends. But not an in season benching....

Tomlin won’t get rid of Najee. He will continue to feed those 3.2yards

Until Najee shows on the field all the hype why he was drafted I’m just not convinced. But I’m hopeful a better Oline can show his full potential

In fairness to Najee he has shown up big once or twice like ben's final home game, that was memorable.

..

Don’t get me wrong unlike Najee and I want to see him be a beast every game. I realize he was hurt etc. I just have very high expectations for any RB taken in the first round of the draft.

He does not get hurt and does not fumble...

He will be getting the pill alot.....again

Right, big in 1-2 games out of how many played, 34 pro starts?

Cooch loves him some agenda:

1 dislike Pickett
2 dislike Najee
3 finish tongue cleaning windows
4 rinse and repeat

Not good for a guy they brought in to carry Ben's last year and usher in a rookie QB. He needs to be better.

He most certainly needs to be better partially due to the up-grades the FO has made along the OL. There is absolutely no reason that Najee Harris doesn’t improve dramatically this season.

I disagreed with picking him in the 1st, but NOW he has to live up to it.

I think he will but my biggest concern is our 3rd year O’Canada factor.
