Najee's run

Great run, kudos to him
He showed some burst yesterday and since I get on him pretty hard about not being able to get outside and his lack of burst, I definitely gotta give him his props when he makes me eat the occasional plate of crow.

Real damn close to a safety tho
That woulda been a kick in the nuts

The refs were on our side for this game tho, thanks to it being a home game we got several advantageous calls

Viva Las Vegas

North & South is his direction and when he does that, he has been VERY impressive.

Yes, his burst did very good yesterday and that TD was fabulous e to see. Thanks Najee !!!

Thanks for posting that clip Coolie, watching it multiple times.

Salute the nation

Also, possibly an added impetus for Najee was that this was sort of a homecoming for him, being from Antioch, CA, which is Raiders country and a short flight to LV. Might’ve had a lot of family & close friends attending the game.

For sure, though, he’ll make an appearance on this morning’s NFLN GMF and that roided-up dude’s Angry Run segment.

20 yards after contact. 20 continuous yards of contact. those things do not happen very often.
Fun to watch and also gets the line amped up too. Much more fun to dish it out than receive. Gotta have patience with the run though. Tough for the instant gratification types to stomach.

Najee never 'lost possession' of the ball until it hit the goal line. You never know which way that ball bounces if he's 3 inches short...

Angry Runs is on Tuesday 🤪🤪🤪

his 36 yard TD was awesome

but I love this run

Same run but against different uniforms.

THIS is the real Najee Harris.
Need to see more runs like this.

Would have been a touchback, not a safety. The nose of the ball only needs to touch the front of the EZ line, and the ground caused the ball the come loose. A TD without a doubt

What I love is the moments you see him go into a pile then you think the play is over. Then you see the pile moving and continue to move. Those moments take me back to some old school football memories. I hope he follows that up against the Jets with a similar performance. As that is always a fun watch.

That is what we all expected, and we've all been waiting for since he was drafted.

Better late than never? Maybe he finally realized that he's a really big guy and decided to act like it.

hopefully Harrison doesnt take any carries away from him.

Yes touchback, mis spoke

Also think that is a crazy rule anyways
That it changes possession
But is what it is

88 had a pretty good block as well!

If you watch closely, Isaac Seumalo gets a one-arm push on Spillane that shoves him outside and luckily, Najee sees it and jumps inside to avoid running into either of them.

Most of our plays that work out well involve a degree of almost/almost-not.

Najee can be a great runner BUT he needs 2-3 yards to build up momentum. Can't do that when your met in the backfield by an unblocked defender. Spillane was inches away from being that unblocked defender.

Name your top 10 RBs that are great when met...first contact by an unblocked defender behind the LOS? Just curious.

Meh...we have seen this every year he has played. Just stating the facts. No more.

Not sure what you're expecting here Still but Najee and Jaylen both are tied for 86th in YBC (yards before contact) @ 1.5ybc. That is a horrendous stat. Najee has only one guy ahead of him with more YAC that has at least 90 attempts...Derrick Henry. Najee is averaging 2.4yac while Henry is at 2.6yac. BTW, Jaylen is at 1.6yac on fewer carries.

My point is, when you have a RB, who is not Barry Sanders, you have to at least get him back to the LOS for him to use his "mass" to do damage.

I don't think Najee will ever be the star he was at Bama but he could be a legit power-back in this league if we could just give him a runway. We cannot block for **** and part of this is the "overload" of defenders stacking the box and the other is scheme. Our OL needs to be better at moving a guy too. We cannot expect 5 guys to block 7 to 9 guys or even our 7 guys to block 8 to 9 defenders BUT we should be able to block one-on-one...and we cannot even do that. Watch each OL over and over on tape and it seems that at least half of them cannot move their assignment out of a hole. Kazora had a few clips of our new OC getting "rag-dolled" as an example BUT what I saw was each other guy wasn't doing much better when isolating on them too.

Part of the solution should be sending extra blockers to a spot to clear a lane like Arthur Smith used to do in Tenn and the other is being less predictable and being able to throw from a stacked box, IMO.
