Next years QB1

I think with Mikey T. finally out of here they need a clean sweep.
DC,OC, OL Coach Meyer, Omar Kahn should be gone at the very least.
Need a young, innovative head coach hiring his own staff.
Promote Andy Weidel to GM.
Retool this roster and get rid of some of these bloated contracts. Ramsey, Watt, Hayward, Metcalf. Get what you can in draft capital and rebuild this roster with younger, faster, talented players.
 
As for a new QB, they better be spot on scouting these young QBs in college. We do not need another Kenny Pickett.
They have zero chance for Mendozza who will be the Raiders pick.
Idk, the Kenny pick set this franchise back years so we really have to do some great scouting to get our next guy.
 
This is easy. Howard is QB1, and it's his job to lose. I'm willing to give him 2 years unless we get a better option.

Unless something silly happens, I DO NOT draft a QB and go heavy OL, DL, WR. Just build the team and get a QB when we can.

I'm out on Willis.

Howard should be the QB1 heading into the preseason unless they draft a QB high. Then, you can have a legit competition between Howard and the rookie for QB1. The other is QB2 with Rudolph at QB3.

The new coach is in a very interesting spot with the offense. There is a solid nucleus for a line in place as well as RBs and TEs. Major holes at QB and WR.

Don’t need heavy OLine just a pick or two. Need another safety one more DLine, WR and one more Corner.

Kahn isn't going anywhere. Nor do I think he should at this point.

Will Howard - National Championship QB who got to sit a year behind impeccable veteran QBs Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph. Unlike Kenny Pickett, he probably learned from the bench.

UFAs
Malik Willis - He's been on my radar for awhile and his latest spot duty only increased his value.
Daniel Jones - 1st-round pedigree, but injury concerns.
Marcus Mariota - Veteran stopgap.
Zach Wilson - Will our next HC be a QB miracle worker?
Joe Flacco - With Tomlin, Flacco playing on every AFCN team was a real possibility. Stefanski is our only hope now.

Trade
Kyler Murray - No thank you, but ESPN will talk about it.

Draft
Mendoza and Moore will go top 5, maybe top 2.

Trinidad Chambliss - A playmaker who stood out in the playoffs. Undersized, which is concerning from what I've seen from other undersized NFL QBs.

Garrett Nussmeier - Underwhelmed, but will still garner interest.

Drew Allar - A lot of warts, but if you can afford to sit a rookie behind a vet, you can draft for tools.
 
I say don't get rid of Mason until the final cuts in camp. You never know when you need a spare QB.

Not excited about Willis.

Draft, trade, UFA, steal something from the UFL or CFL, or sit on what you have. All of those are better than a dumb draft move.

Also I would rather have a very good O line coach than draft any guys. We need new D Line, though. A good receiver corps will keep a defense from having too much success in the rush.

I'm not sure about Jones. He feasted on a lot of bad teams (Tennessee twice, Las Vegas, Miami, Arizona). He came up short against the likes of Pittsburgh, the Rams, and Jacksonville (albeit he went out injured but was in long enough to throw an interception).

I think they could obtain Mac too. An option. Or the Houston backup Mills.

Great call, I forgot about Mac Jones.

If the Steelers want to risk it for the 2027 draft, run it with Will Howard and see what he's made of. If they think they can contend on the Tomlin model, make a play for Jones or Willis.
 
I’ve got this feeling in the pit of my stomach that Carson Beck is gonna be the guy

Not an endorsement, just this weird sinking feeling

Hopefully the new HC has a solid plan
