NFC Championship game.

And there are those in the Pittsburgh media like DK who claim it's ridiculous to suggest the Steelers are satisfied with the way things have gone in recent years.

Actions (or lack thereof) speak louder than any hollow words from Tomlin or Rooney.

For essentially the entire coaching staff to return after this season's collapse is really inexcusable. It just reflects a general lack of accountability in the organization.
We're so far behind the top teams that it isn't even funny. Super Bowl hell, we may never win another playoff game.

Kind of interesting. In regards to Weidel one could say that the Eagles player personal has even improved since he’s been gone. Let’s hope he actually had something to do with their success while he was there.

Washington has built their current team with year after year after year of having high draft choices, and finally clicking on a QB. And you can see easily how far behind they are than the Eagles.
I have way more respect for the Eagles. They don’t have those top picks year after year. Look at their DLine and their Secondary. All young. Their OLine has been good for years. They are so far ahead of the Steelers at this point that it’s laughable.

Yeah, Weidel might have not been as big a factor in their success as it once seemed, but it still doesn't hurt to have an executive from that organization in the front office.

One has to question how much influence he has over Tomlin and Khan, though I understand he's been friends with Khan for sometime, which is partly why he was willing to leave the Eagles.

I’m happy for the Eagles but man I’m bummed about the Steelers. Not seeing any light at the end of the tunnel.
Rooney is scheduled to speak this week so that should be a real treat. Don’t think I can feel any lower than I do now about the team but Rooney may even push me down further after he talks.

You know Punxs……when I answered your post just previous. I used the word “respect” for the Eagles.
Respect is one of the more powerful words out there. For example When you lose respect in a relationship it’s usually nothing but a downward slide from there. Trying not to make this a CMT bashing.

I have lost respect for the Steelers team and organization. From the shenanigans of the players running afoul to the constant same old spew, with nothing anew coming from our head leaders. This is not recent. It’s been going on for some time. Not much has been said about how you could see the team quitting in the 3rd quarter- on in the last playoff game. It was obvious. I believe the players themselves have lost respect.

They had two first round picks last year (9,30), the 13th pick in 22, 10th in 21...those are high picks in 3 of the last 4 drafts.

For reference, our picks 20, 14, 20, 24. One high pick and we traded up 3 spots for that.
Yes….they had those picks. But come on. You know what I meant. Those picks weren’t because they were playing at the bottom of the league like Washington has done for years. Eagles have traded ,wheeled and dealed as well. And I was comparing it to Washington in that post…not us.

Him speaking will not be nearly as bad as listening to the "media" asking the same tired, no balls questions. Not one of them will confront him on his acceptance of mediocrity, because they worry about having access going forward.

What else should they do, the HEAD COACH quit on this team at least TWICE this past season. The players see that that behavior is accepted, so they don't have a problem quitting too.

Dookie making ZERO changes, is just him also quitting on the team. The Minority ownership is not any better, as they are not making things difficult for Dookie either.

I believe everything has an expiration date, and the way the Steelers have traditionally done things is not an exception. They value stability and continuity to a fault, which leads to things like giving Tomlin an unjustified three year extension and promoting Kevin Colbert's assistant to GM, even though the Steelers had been making questionable personnel decisions during much of Colberts last decade in the role.

It's gotten to the point it's hard to be optimistic about the franchise unless Art2 drastically changes how he runs the organization, which seems about as likely as Jerry Jones changing the way he runs the Cowboys.

You compared the two, then at the very end compared us to both...

Mack Hollins arriving for the game. He doesn’t believe in wearing shoes or using utensils to eat.

It somehow slipped your mind that Washington drafted #2 last year. I never mentioned Steelers draft picks at all. I was comparing eagles - Washington.post #116.

Reading and comprehension bro... You mentioned the steelers in the last sentence you posted. You brought them into the convo. I didn't fail to mention anything, you can't keep track of what you posted

Very well said. I'll follow the draft like I do most years as I'm a huge college football fan and I like to keep track of these guys. I'm done being exclusive to a loser organization that no longer cares to win championships. And to be clear on what I consider a "loser" is what I tell my wrestlers; "there are winners and learners, the only losers are those who fail to learn."
