NFL Sunday ticket

I have Hulu and have no complaints. It was a great day getting rid of Verizon. (Except for their high speed internet) I like that for work.

5 million YouTube TV subscribers

2 $Billion a year....

That means YT breaks even at $400 per customer if EVERY subscriber goes in, lol...uh oh.

I know they get revenue from ads but damn.

I've been a YT subscriber for over a year and I love it. That and 500mbps internet and I'm good.

They are virtual monopolies in certain areas and thus can act like ***** in others… cable companies should not be allowed to provide service and content… its a conflict of interest…
I'm forced to have Xfinity for internet. That's the only service available in my area. While I don't know what Xfinity promotions look like these days from a cost standpoint, I'm certain that they will be far more expensive once that promotion ends. I think Hulu w/ live tv is right around $70/mo? Most would get everything that they need with that. No way XFINITY gives you a decent cable package for that price after the promotional period ends.

Also, for those that want to negotiate your internet pricing (aka ***** about the price once the promo period ends), you'd be best served to go into your local Xfinity store to get yourself a better deal. Otherwise, you'll end up on an hour+ phone call where you can barely understand the person you are talking to and have to continue saying "disconnect" to make anything happen. The 20-something year olds at the Xfinity store don't care and don't want to hear you *****, so they'll basically let you know right away what they are able to do. In most cases, you agree to a year extension, you agree to the plan "upgrade", and you get anywhere from 30 to 50% off the regular pricing. Twenty minutes and done for the next 12 months.

I'm not sure if anyone has tried 'NFL Plus' (the subscription where you have to watch on your mobile device). When I first heard about it I didn't know what I would think about watching a game on my phone, but I have a couple of buddies who have it, and if you have a decent size smart phone, it's not bad. I think it's like $39.99 annually for the Basic Plan and $79.99 annually for the Premium. Right now they are running a holiday special where you can get a Basic Plan the rest of this season for $12.99 or the Premium subscription for $24.99. I may actually subscribe to this next season.

Yeah but it doesn’t give you your game like ticket. I looked into that as I wasn’t getting any Steeler games this year

What do you mean by "game like ticket"? To the best of my knowledge, you have access to all games .. to include pre-season.

NFL Sunday ticket.

No you do not have access to the games on NFL +. Well maybe after the fact but not live. That would make the ticket worthless.

I'm not sure if you and I are talking about the same thing. Here you go:

We are.

If I got that I can not watch the Steelers if the Steelers are not on in my area. “Live local and PT games”.

I’m in Philly so I haven’t got any Steelers games. I looked into it but no dice.

I see. So you get all out-of-market preseason games, but only local and primetime regular season games. I didn't realize that you don't get every game during the regular season. No longer worth $70/year, IMO.

Right. And why pay (google/YouTube) two billion for something that folks can get from the NFL straight up.

Old but think it’s good read. Premium is cheaper route for sure. So if you have a smart tv with apps you can watch via normal YouTube
Seems to me then that you won't need to be a YouTube TV subscriber to get access to the games via the Premium Channels, which is basically what I said.

Still have a subscription you need to pay

I cut NFL Ticket 3 years ago. I do not want all of the games. I just want the Steeler game. The rest are meaningless to me and I'm not paying for it.

If they can't give me just one game on YouTube, then I won't buy that either.

If you can watch just Steelers games a la carte for the entire year at around $100, that would be sweet. I would go as high as $150 all in if I had to also subscribe to Youtube TV. I get DirecTV streaming for free through work as I have been a tester for the service since they joined AT&T and now split back off. But, I don't know how long that will last. I then just pay for Sunday Ticket since I have no cable or streaming bill.

If that is the case I will drop them also. I just need to for the basics and Steeler games.
If you're still a PGH local, you can sign up for Paramount Plus for $4.99/mo. That will give you all the local CBS games included. I'm not sure if Peacock is still a free app or not (worst case it may be $4.99/mo), but that would give you all the NBC Sunday night Football games. From there, you would just have to figure out how to catch the rare games that are televised on Fox and the ESPN Monday night games.

I live in MD Raven land. Hard to find Steeler games. Directtv had me just because of the ticket. Youtube will get my business if it is not to crazy expensive.

I do have a back up plan, by bud has youtube and will 100% get the ticket.

I've been saying the same thing for years. I think if they offered a "pick your team" package for $99/per season, tons of people who don't currently subscribe would pounce on that offer.

I had the NFL Season Ticket free for several seasons. This is going back 6 or 7 years now, but one time DirectTV called me and said something like "we see that you didn't renew the NFL Season Ticket package, is anything wrong"? I said, I really enjoyed it but can't justify the price point (and at the time I think it was $250/season). One time, I called right before the season started because I was going to add a couple movie channels. I remember asking the CS person if, by chance, they were running any special offers on NFL Season Ticket. If memory serves, twice they responded by giving it to me for free because I was a "good customer". Once I agreed to pay $100 for the season.

I haven't been a DTV customer for years, but to those of you who have it, it may be worth the call. I will say, I always thought DTV had better customer service than Xfinity .. and by far.
