I didn’t state that the U.S. was a direct democracy, merely a democracy. Nothing in that paragraph excludes it from being a democracy. It’s simply incorrect to say the U.S., or any country, that operates using democratic principle is not a democracy.

The U.S. is a democracy in form (it uses democratic elections)… That’s why terms like “democratic republic” or “representative democracy” are both accurate descriptions.
