I’ve seen videos from the rallies this weekend where a guy was calling for people to buy guns and use them to kill ice agents. Several videos of people calling for Trump’s assassination, and other videos calling for political assassinations in general. A woman wearing a shirt that said make assassinations great again.
Politicians are fueling it too. Probably more so than the average American. The media distorting facts to fit agendas and even flat out lying helps fuel this too.
Is there honestly anyone left in America that actually thinks this country will ever be united again? Sad as it is, I don’t see it. The gulf between the left and right gets wider by the day, and the rhetoric gets darker and darker. I don’t know if it will happen in my lifetime, but there’s going to be another civil war in this country. It’s inevitable at this point short of half the country surrendering to the other. I don’t know what the answer is and I don’t think anyone else does either. I don’t think anybody wants to fight other Americans. I don’t, but I don’t see how it’s avoidable.
All this talk about killing, assassinations, it’s nuts. We are headed down a road that isn’t going to allow U-turns.
People better think it through. Having served multiple combat tours, you don’t want this. I still hear the sounds, smell the smells, see things I’ll never be able to forget. It will be with me the rest of my life. I can’t imagine what a civil war, where you may end up killing friends or even family, will do to people. You may win the war, but I worry about what will be left when it’s over.
