No Weaknesses: Only Injuries Or The Salary Cap Can Stop The Seahawks

I will give you my honest thoughts on the Seahawks. Barring an injury to Wilson or another major contributor, if they get home field advantage in the playoffs it's over. They will play in the SB because nobody is going to go in to that building and beat them in a playoff game...not going to happen. Offenses cant hear **** and playing on turf allows their defense to play fast as hell. They are a bunch of mean SOB's that fly to the ball like no team I have ever seen. They can be beaten, just not in that madhouse they call home.

the Packers were in it 'til the 4th Q....their D let them down.

the Hags look great, but I ain't ready to crown them yet.

Without Lynch they don't win the SB, this year or last. I'm a Wilson fan, but he can't carry their offense.

There is no doubt that anything came happen during the season, but that is the most complete team I have seen in a loooooong time. Like it or not the Seahawks are for real.

Seattle is a Jeckle and Hyde team. They aren't great on the road. They slipped by Carolina last year 12-7. They also beat a horrible Houston team 23-20 when the QB just gave them the game on a horrible pick. And that was in OT. They got beat on the road against the Colts. They beat the no-offense Rams 14-9. And they also lost to SF on the road.

So, I'll wait to crown them until they win a few road games.

Carolina was 12-4 last year and almost impossible to beat at home, the Colts are a great home team. They don't need to to do more than break even on the road and the playoffs will once again run through Seattle.

It is a sad statement on today's NFL that this seahawk team looks so dominant. They have exactly 1 big offensive weapon, Percy Harvin. Lynch is a good RB but he's not special. He didn't light the world on fire in buffalo or even his first year in Seattle.

Seattle is good on offense simply because they are physical in a league of ***** defenses.

It's the same on defense. Seattle is tough in a league that is now dominated by offensive coordinators who think up ways to trick a defense instead of blocking them. These supposedly genius offense only work because defensive coordinators are doing the same, trying to scheme up big plays instead of having guys who can win one on one matchups.

the Seahawks show up and the tricks don't work because they are simple on defense. How do you beat Seattle? Easy, you block them and then your WRs actually beat their man and get open.

sadly, there are few WRs these days that even run good routes. They are used to getting open because a route combo tricked the defense, not because they ran a sharp route and beat the DB.

Seattle, may win it all but not because they are great. It's because so many teams now baby their players so much by scheming up their success, that they can't deal with a team that just lines up and forces you to win iindividual matchups. It's sad really.

i think this Seattle team would get their ***** handed to them by a random playoff team from the 90s.

I just do not understand the rationale you're applying to downplay how good the Seahawks are.

They've recognized the flaws in the league around them and have exploited them. Isn't that what the **** you're supposed to do?

They're an absurdly talented and well coached team. There are great players up and down that roster, including three All -pros in the secondary and two All-Pro caliber offensive linemen in Okung and Unger. Also, they've accumulated a stable of good pass rushers, and if you think Lynch is not a special player, I have to question how many Seahawks games you've watched in recent years. The guy's a monster and makes that offense go, and the respect defenses have for him is the foundation to that downright filthy play action/misdirection game they have with Wilson and Harvin.

They're a great team, reminiscent of the early 90s Cowboys, IMO.

There's a great chance they win the next two Superbowls before being torn apart by free agency.

Seattle may very well be the most physical, well balanced professional football team in the last 15 years. Anyone that doesn't appreciate how good this team is is in denial.

I love everything about how the Seahawks play. Russell Wilson is becoming an elite QB and with his incredible ability to get outside and make plays they are going to just get better and better. last night they showed a stat where he has a 100 QB rating both inside and outside the pocket. Their coaching staff is top notch and I would love their OC as our our head coach

One would think the Seahawks' dominance in a freaking New York Super Bowl would rest the myth that they're "good only at home."

They're easily the best NFL team since those Cowboys teams. That Patriots dynasty of a decade ago would be their *****.

Yea ok...

I am pretty sure that any coach would be able to successfully coach a team laden with Pro Bowl talent on both sides of the ball...

I'm pretty sure Tomlin would have done things like draft Cortez Allen over Richard Sherman, but I could be wrong on that.

Tomlin already did that with the team he was handed... It's what he's done since that makes him the village idiot.

Denver was not who we thought they were. They are still trying to remove the cleat prints on the back of their uniforms. One of the most lopsided SB ever.

I'm pointing out that the league in general is not as good as it used to be and that is why Seattle is able to dominate simply by playing good fundamental football. My criticism is on the state of the game, not on the seahawks.

Lynch is good but the OL is the key. I think several RBs could deliver similar results on that team.

You mention the 90s Cowboys. I think that COwboy team would blow out the Seattle team. I think the 95 Steelers would destroy this Seattle team.

I appreciate how good they are compared to the league, i just don't think the league is very good right now.

Remember a few years ago when Green Bay was a "dynasty" and Rodgers was the "greatest ever"? Now it's Seattle and Luck. Time is the real test.

I find it funny all the praise for Carroll, some how I think if this were the Steelers some of you heaping praise on him would be bashing him for having Thomas return punts. Some people are crying about Brown returning punts for his because he is too valuable yet he has Earl Thomas doing it. Yet we have Brown who is a pro bowl caliber returner and Tomlin is an idiot to some for even considering using Brown in the role.

I just find it ironic some people don't apply the same logic for coaches and players on our team the same way with other teams.

Team Speed and physicality..

They are showing the rest of the league how to continue to play physical football in today's NFL...which seems to be team speed to the point of emphasis, which eliminates the "one-on-one" altercation..

You can't penalize or fine several players for the same hit on an opponent...or at least it would be very difficult to break that down and rationalize that as an illegal hit or post-game fine..

I enjoy watching this Seahawks team play football. Physical on both sides of the ball, something that the Steelers used to be. It is a well built and well coached football team.

The team that wins the SB is the healthiest team, and the one with most momentum, going into the playoffs. You cannot determine this in the first week.

Exactly! I can't believe all the slobbering of the Seachickens on here... Yes they are a good team but c'mon it's the first game of the season.

Mostly because very few Steeler fans watch other teams regularly. I know a little about Seattle but not enough that I can critique them about certain players playing certain roles. I'm sure there are other teams that are saving their best returner because he is too valuable but you aren't being called out for not blasting them because nobody keeps up with other teams enough to know it.

I understand what you're saying, but it works both ways.

Due to rule changes. it's a lot easier to pass in the league now than it was in 1990s, so it's stands to reason that the Seahawks secondary would be even better in the 1990s NFL.

Talent is talent, and I think many parts of their team, especially their o-line and secondary, would be elite in either era.
