Not only did the Steelers eliminate the browns

Passed by just to remind you all that the next two years the browns have a 74M cap hit (each year) on predator Watson's contract. How can they work around such a ridiculous contract without an extension I don't know. There might be a firesale in the offseason, anything worthy to trade for?

With the DeShaun Watson contract I suspect Stefanski has a job for the next two years. Due to using signing bonuses to restructure his first three years salary down to vet minimum, $172m of Watson's contract hasn't hit the Browns cap yet. What head coaching candidate (other than someone desperate for a job) would want to walk into that salary cap situation?

I think Stefanowski (sp) is a pretty decent coach, who is handcuffed with a ****** owner.

With his age and injuries, a post June 1 cut designation would have a cap hit about $50 million less than the $172 mil it would cost release Watson after the season. Haslam wouldn’t/doesn't care, he wants to win (anything) and the fanbase is pounding sand for ANOTHER change.

Drink is right Stefanski is a good coach handicapped by owner intervention. Firing him would set back the organization another five years. Haslam isn’t a “young owner” and wants “stars before his eyes” and soon.

They have a $16 mil surplus for 2025 cap right NOW without any cap changes. There will be another big jump in the cap as well. So they possibly can absorb Watson’s contract, albeit with little latitude going forward.
