Notable steelers Roster cuts

Cut McFarland who had a good camp changed his style and then you keep Watt who did not play and injured???? Bush on roster well enough said. Snell well you can't fight city hall which in Steelerland is Tomlin.

This team is just run by a moron!!! I hate that one of my favorite teams (Pens are #1) is run by this clown show. The decisions they make provide the rest of the NFL plenty of chuckles! Snell sucks, Bush might as well be a lump of dirt on the field for as much as he does, Watt is never used and often injured, yet they still made this team over guys who could actually play!

Joe Haeg is the last cut. Surprised but he may be a player that does not have to clear waivers and they can sign him back after players are put on IR.
Can you imagine what this does to his ego? I could make this team with this offense line?

The only ego that matters is Tomlins.

I had a feeling both were passed by other players. McFarland looked solid in the one game I am sure he will get a chance somewhere else.
Once it was shown that McF can't run between the tackles I knew his time was limited. I understand he has other qualities, but they were looking for more than what he had to deliver. Not sure Snell can offer the outside and catches but he does have the power and the STs work as well.

I thought Leglue play 'above the line' last season when called upon. Did he regress???

Must have dried up but didn't stick. He instantly made last year's OL look better when he played. 3rd round is what's keeping GREEN on the team.

The Steelers are trying to build an inside running game. They showed that with Daniels and Cole additions and Naj and now the undrafted's RBs addition to the roster. McFarland lacked the vision to consistently run between the tackles. Wasn't a special pass catcher or blocker. Snell can at least play special teams too. More ya know. 😉

Also don't lose sight that Snell is pretty good in pass protection as well. PLUS his first name is Benny which happens to be my grandson's name as well..........................

He gets extra points for that.😉

Don’t agree with McFarland gone we saw his burst and he could of been a great back to dump swing passes or run a circle route

I totally agree, but they basically kept Sims over him even though they are at different positions. Sims has actually been a pretty good runner with the ball in limited opportunities… 103 yards on 10 carries.. McFarland’s 116 on 36 looks much worse in comparison…

Personally, id rather keep McFarland as a change of pace back, but i get why they cut him

McFarland had a few good carries in one preseason game this year out of 3 years. He went dark again after that. Him being cut was long overdue. They gave him plenty of chances. Snell hasn't shown me much as a ball carrier - at least not what I was expecting when they drafted him, but he does have some qualities they like. I think Warren should definitely be our RB2 to start the season with Snell RB3.

I thought Haeg and Leglue improved our O line last year whenever they replaced an injured bum. The 8-8 standard is the standard... if we're lucky.

I haven't seen so much crying about a non pick (Creed Humphrey) since Javon Kearse.

Didn't figure the Davis boys would make the team.

Mongo sucks but surprised he was cut. He got a lot of playing time last year regular season and this year preseason. I thought he was a Tomlin favorite.

Justin Layne is a surprise. He was a 3rd round pick in 2019. Pedigree.

I agree with letting McFarland go..
Snell is limited...but runs hard and can pass block.
I was really hoping they would sign the vet Drake for our number 2...but the Ravens signed him.
Predicting Drake has a 100 yard game against up this season.

So you wanted Kenyan Drake over Jaylen Warren? Warren is definitely the number 2 right now, and I like him more than Drake tbh

I don't see a final 53-man roster thread, and didn't see it here? so I'll just post it here. Sorry if duped somewhere.

Justin Layne got claimed by the New York Giants, interesting

He wasn't being used properly here.

I was hoping we’d trade Bush to the Ravens to improve our run game at least for 2 games a year

I was very surprised that Mondeaux and Vaughn were not claimed, by the way… outside cuts at wr and dl overshadowed them… Sims would likely have been claimed…

I figured the Davis bros and Cody white might also be lost , but all we lost was Layne… i mean not everyone may sign with our practice squad… but still
