Obamacare Wins Again

Yep, Cruz is the only one that seems pissed about this other than Scalia.

“The Supreme Court willfully ignored the words that Congress wrote, and instead read into the law their preferred policy outcome,” Mr. Cruz said. “These judges have joined with President Obama in harming millions of Americans.”

He continued, “Those justices are not behaving as umpires calling balls and strikes. They have joined a team, and it is a team that is hurting Americans across this country.”

The part of Spike's article I think stands out the most is this comment.....

They know the Republican leadership in Washington is quietly celebrating the Court’s decision. If they believe this issue is now settled so they don’t have to address it, they are sorely mistaken.

fun for all

Obamacare is merely a means for individuals to buy private medical insurance. Not getting healthcare is the easiest way for a citizen to end up
dependent on the government. So why don't conservatives support a program that helps prevent individuals becoming dependent on the government,

Without insurance these folks were ending up in emergency rooms and the taxpayer was paying the unpaid bills to the hospitals.

It is a means for allowing people to buy insurance with other people's money. It is, absolutely, nothing but a wealth transfer mechanism.

ha ha

Why not a bill to repeal it?

House bill would force the Supreme Court to enroll in ObamaCare

A House Republican on Thursday proposed forcing the Supreme Court justices and their staff to enroll in ObamaCare.

Rep. Brian Babin (R-Texas) said that his SCOTUScare Act would make all nine justices and their employees join the national healthcare law’s exchanges.

“As the Supreme Court continues to ignore the letter of the law, it’s important that these six individuals understand the full impact of their decisions on the American people,” he said. “That’s why I introduced the SCOTUScare Act to require the Supreme Court and all of its employees to sign up for ObamaCare,” Babin said.

Babin’s potential legislation would only let the federal government provide healthcare to the Supreme Court and its staff via ObamaCare exchanges.

“By eliminating their exemption from ObamaCare, they will see firsthand what the American people are forced to live with,” he added.

Our Supreme court is ******* worthless. Nothing short of a revolt will save this constitutional republic.

You all want to save the constitutional republic by revolting against the government.....of said constitutional republic??

look....squirrel!!!

Why can't our side have Hope and Change and Transform America too?
Oh right, the media will call us racists. Nevermind.

Who's gonna revolt? The masses sitting around on their behinds collecting welfare, unemployment, disability, food stamps, free health insurance and probably free college in a couple of years? Why would they?

No, what will happen as has happened in all socialist states, the people who have to earn the money to pay for all of this will get sick of doing so, and will quit.

Look, most of the people in this country think Scalia is a kook. Logic and reason and adhering to the Constitution are now considered insane by most people. There are no such thing as "conservatives" anymore, at least not in any number that will affect a national election. It's over folks, this little experiment in liberty and self-determination. Finito.

We have a president who thinks he can write laws. We have a SCOTUS which thinks it can rewrite laws in order to make them adhere to the Constitution. We have an IRS using its power to silence people. We had a secretary of state conducting business from her personal home and destroying years of records, who is now likely to become our next president.. NO. ONE. CARES.

You sound as resignedly gloomy as me lately. Welcome.

I'm about to quit (retire) in a year or two, so.....

And I can from my experience at least state that the welfare state, especially Medicaid, is thriving here in the southwest.

I have a 40 - 45 year old woman that comes into my pharmacy on disability. Claims to have MS, but exhibits no symptoms in the 10 years I've seen her. Perfect gait, no vision or speech issues, and she runs marathons!
Most of the other < 50 year old leeches have type II diabetes and hypertension to claim their "disability" and are for the most part simply 100 pounds over weight.

And all of them are intelligent and capable of being responsible for themselves. Just too easy and it's growing.

Good. Now the GOP can run against Obamacare. There is no denying it has hurt more than it has helped so far and the costs are only predicted to skyrocket even more than they already have. I personally am paying thousands more a year in health insurance (premiums, deductible and maximum out of pocket) due to Obamacare. Most middle class and lower class families can't afford that kind of hit. Another Liberal failure.

I saw the movie... alas nobody has come for me yet...

Never saw past the first part. Keep meaning to watch the rest. Incredible book. The State Science Institute reminds me so much of the UN panel on Climate Change.

No one has come for me either

It's not going to be saved. **** it. It's just a matter of time.

Wait...I thought that we needed O-care because people without insurance would get kicked in the teeth and thrown down an alley if they tried to go to an ER. That's basically what we were told. It's why liberals started using the phrase "access to care" instead of insurance. They were sayin that if you didn't have insurance, you would be turned away. A blatant lie.

Preventive care? Everybody has access to preventive care. You just have to pay for it. And if you were uninsured, you should have been able to afford it with the money you saved by not having insurance.

The other big lie was that all the people who are uninsured are uninsured because they are dirt poor and can;t afford it. Fact is, the majority of those who were uninsured were employed but chose not to pat for insurance. When i was in my 20s, i never had insurance. I didn't need it. I chose not to pay for it.

This pattern still holds true even with the non-stop fear mongering that all young people need to buy insurance. Most are not buying it.

Why were phrases like "if you like your Doctor, you can keep your Doctor" so important in selling the scam? Because most people were perfectlu happy with their health insurance. Maybe they would like it a bit cheaper but for the most part, they were happy. But at the same time they were absolutely convinced that their neighbor was in dire need of healthcare reform.

So there you have it. They suckered a bunch of satisfied customers into believing that they had to help their struggling neighbor. Meanwhile the neighbor is doing it for YOU.

They especially won't buy it if they know they can buy it after they get sick.

Not for long as the tax penalties for not having insurance increase annually. By the time millions of young people say "WTF, I didn't vote for THIS", Bomma will be gone and it will be the fault of whatever Republican is in the White House. (Yeah, I've changed my mind about Hildebeast winning.)

There is a thriving community of expats in Nicarauga, mang!

Aren't the penalties paid from tax refunds? If so, simply withhold the least amount and never get a refund.

That's assuming you actually make enough to actually pay any taxes.

It's a dollar amount and you'll have to pay it one way or the other. If you don't have enough refund to cover it then you have to pay.

Yeah, that's hilarious. Check out this knee-slapper.
