Looks like you might be taking transit for 6 months. Ford,Dodge,Toyota, etc all American cars companies huge advertising on NFL. No fast food for you…..no pizza. No on- line gambling,Apple products……throw out that iPhone, pad. Airlines, major insurance carriers….,little blue pills,God forbid the Steelers advertise upcoming games on their schedule. This game has somehow gotten more appealing for me. My fellow football fan is about to change his lifestyle.

I remember when, not too long ago fans on here were boycotting the NFL if they played Lift every voice and Sing before the games.
How’d that work for you?

“Europe doesn’t want American football there”
Huh. They sell out in minutes. One game adds 75 million to local economy…..conservative estimate. . The revenue to the NFL is huge. TV and advertising is huge. And of course the driving force. On- line gambling.

The NFL is a multi billion dollar industry, and just like any other business they are reaching for other opportunities .

They will be the away team well far away.

I was in France way back when, but didn’t make my way to Paris. I do remember that at that time they weren’t overly fond of Americans. Wonder if that has changed…..

No,but if they had the game in Normandy,France, they'd be most welcome.

I think it's ridiculous and stupid to have a game in Paris.

Going back to Ireland would have been a far better choice.

I think it would’ve been logical to play on the national sporting rivalry of Ireland - England. Shad tried to establish the Jags in the U.K. through Fulham F.C. They’ll fly the Union Jack. Hypothetically, Ireland’s surrogate would be the Steelers due to the Rooneys’ heritage and the late ambassador’s fondness for the place. (Damn shame that Dan didn’t find a way to reunite the island. He could’ve sold merch from now till Armageddon.) Both organizations could’ve built on the previous games and all this as a foundation for some sort of regularly occurring festivity. Assuming this whole enterprise was within the by-laws, okayed by the agents of the shield, sporting commissions and national powers to be, it would’ve had the potential for some real pageantry.

Nota Bene: Bear in mind, the last fifty years of history between those two nations could be classified as a bit tumultuous. This would need to be handled diplomatically and with taste. If it is, it should be received in a similar manner.
