OFFICIAL PREDICTION THREAD - Game 16 - Steelers vs. Bengals, ACT II

I've taken a couple of games off in the prediction world...

I've been thinking about the same "fact" that someone eluded to earlier in the thread - we've already secured a spot in the playoffs - so, just playing devil's advocate - do we risk injury to key players just to win the division and get a home field game during the playoffs???

OF COURSE!!!

I expect the entire team to be "UP" for this game and my prediction is:

Bengals 26
Steelers 38

So is it possible if we lose this game that we could fall no further than a #5 seed ? SD looks to have an easier shot vs KC now that Alex Smith is shelved for the last game. This would in effect eliminate Baltimore, thus giving Harbaugh and that franchise TWO consecutive seasons without a playoff appearance.

I think the steelers pull out a close game 31-24. But truth be told, I could really care less which way this game goes. An AFCN division winners hat is not enough. I want a playoff run. Winner of this game gets the 3 seed and a home game against the chargers or the ravens. The loser gets the 5 seed and an away game at the colts. The Bengals have been really good this season at following up losses with good wins. Plus a measure of revenge against the colts would be nice. The colts are not playing well right now, and when the Bengals played them they were missing AJ Green, all 3 starting LBs and Leon Hall at CB. I dont think the colts got the Bengals best the first meeting, so to break the playoff drought against them would be nice. So here is to an injury free game for both sides, and a strong showing by the AFCN in the playoffs.

I believe you have to prioritize getting that home game, whether you're the Steelers or the Bengals, especially in this situation. I do not think there's enough of a difference between the Colts and Chargers (assuming they beat a depleted Chiefs team) to make going on the road against the Colts more preferable. Andrew Luck can be dangerous in that building.

Plus, I'd rather the Steelers face the Broncos in the divisional round, as opposed to the Patriots.

This....isnt really accurate. But yes, a blowout win would be nice

Steelers rally and win.............. at the end of the game.

The team that jumps to an early lead and can lean on its running game will have a big advantage if the weather predictions hold true. Rain and snow are not conducive to a comeback in which the team that is behind will have to pass a lot to catch up.

I think winning is important, but would we rather face an iffy colts team or a red hot sd team. Rivers usually makes things interesting against us and with our secondary it could be bad. I still say luck is over rated, but he can put up numbers at any given point. I don't think they pats will lose the first game, but the broncos have a good shot at losing. I think something is wrong with Manning or he is just done. People say his oline is bad but peyton gets the ball out in about 2 secs so not so sure if that's the real issue.
Overall i say we take the home game and our chances against rivers....

They will travel to the burgh with sugerplums dancing in their heads and a lack of focus. Their wide out has a sore arm.
