OFFICIAL PREDICTION THREAD - Game 8 - Steelers vs. Colts

Colts 37
Steelers 13

Steelers 13
Colts 34

Steelers 42
Indy 10

Steelers 28
Ravens 13

Do you really think we can hold these two teams to a total of 23 points with this patchwork defense? Hell, I'd be surprised if we hold just one of them to less than 23 points.

Colts 34
Steelers 24

Colts 31
Steelers 26

Surprised Colts are only 3 point favorites.

If they lose to Baltimore then they'll have 3 division loses because they lost to the clowns. If they are going to make the playoffs then they must beat the rats at home and the bungles at home.

What, to make the playoffs by winning the division?
Divisional games are over-rated as the only represent less than 40% of the total games but.best overall record takes the division. It's really a screwy model if you think about it.

Don't agree with this. I see the AFC like this: five very likely playoff teams (Pats, Ravens, Colts, Broncos & Chargers) and then the Steelers and the Bengals fighting for the 6th spot. We could lose to the Rats and still finish ahead of the Bengals (hopefully A.J. Green will re-aggravate that toe...)

Except you didn't read the end of my sentence. Not only must we beat the rats but also the bungles. If the Steelers lose to both then I don't think they get in. Remember the bungles still have haven't played jax, TB and the clowns (twice). They have the rats this week then they play 4 games of under .500 teams (5 if you count the 3-3 clowns). Then they play the 4-3 Steelers twice in 4 weeks. I think the rats and bungles games are critical to get into the playoffs.

I agree

.............

now onto Sundays matchup

I expect the Colts to blow out the Steelers, in the same manner if not worse beating they got from the Browns.

but never ever ever pick against my team...just don't do it

nope

Steelers win

Do I "expect" the Steelers to hold both the Colts and Ravens to a combined 23 points?

No.

Am I really pleading for Tomlin and co. to pull their collective heads out of their ***** and do some actual brilliant coaching?

Yes.

Roethlisberger rushes down field after the completion to Wheaton.....the clock ticks.......8...7...6....out of timeouts Roethlisberger spikes the ball and Suisham trots onto the field.....Wing sets up at the 32, and Sushi lines up the 42 yarder. The snap is good....the hold is good and the kick is up and ITS GOOD!!!!!! Final Score....
Colts 38
Steelers 13

I hate picking against the Steelers. I feel so damn disloyal but with the inconsistency on offense and the no pressure,no sack, can't contain the run, how in the hell can I pick us to win. We have faced QB's so far that are just guys, nothing more with the exception of Flacco so now we face Luck.

Colts 37
Steelers 27

I would love to be wrong.

i have no idea what to expect from this team. They won last week but they were still outplayed.

The big positive for the offense was Martavis Bryant. He is raw but Mike Wallace was pretty effective being a 1 trick pony. Bryant knows that trick, being a deep threat. The bonus is Bryant actually looked like a willing blocker.

Shazier could be a key since the Colts have 2 good TEs.

Le'Veon Bell is the 2nd best WR right now. I think they should come up with packages with Bell and Blount in there together and Bell can motion out to WR or run routes from the backfield.

You could even run this out of e 2 TE set. That's a heavy package with Bell and Blount and it will force the defense to match with their heavy package. Now what if you split Heath out wide and motion Bell out there also. Now Heath can block for Bell in a quick screen. Brown would be split out alone on the other side. Blount is in the backfield for the run threat up the middle. You could even motion Bell back from WR to the backfield on a Jet sweep or fake that sweep. That's a strong misdirection.

The Steelers ARE a finnesse team now, so they have to embrace it with formations that get their playmakers in position to make big plays. Bell needs to be used like the Rams used Marshall Faulk. Faulk used to run WR routes. Bell isn't at that level yet but he's a natural with receiving.

As for the Colts game, I think the colts will pick up Cortez with TY Hilton and score a bunch of points

Colts 31
Steelers 23

But i want to think positive for this one, so if you're feeling sad and blue, This Jam's for You

Got my tickets. See yinz there.

"Peezy came in here and said they (Colts) was a soft bunch" -- Jerome Bettis

Hope Peezy says the same Sunday!

This is not quite my NFL Pick of the Year against the spread but it is awfully close. The Colts are infinitely better than the Steelers in all phases and it will show on the scoreboard. Hope I am wrong.....Colts 34, Men of Steel 20

Can they finally win two in a row? Damn I'm hoping for it but my head says no

Dolts 38

Steelers 13

I think we are in for a blood bath. It really pains me to pick against us. Luck looks really good. Colts D is solid. We are too sporadic. I hope I'm wrong, but gut says;
Colts: 42
STEELERS: 17
