Okay...so glimpses of the good.

the first half, they looked like world beaters. The second half, I don't know wtf happened. Tail of two halves.

Ben looked really good, as did Bell, AB, Justin Brown and Bryant looked pretty good. Too bad Smurf 3.0 got nicked up.

The D scares the bloody Hell out of me, though.

special teams were good for what its worth,,

blitzburgh,, I think a b+ for bell is being a lil stingy.. I think he played great.

Seemed like we had a penalty on every freaking ST play. If they were to cut down their penalties to about half, then I'd be happier. I know, I know, baby steps.....

I hear 'ya, Iron City, but on basically every kick return (1) if the Steelers were returning the kick, it looked like the return was about to break open for a huge gain, and (2) when the Browns were returning the kick, the return looked dead from the get-go.

That is a huge advance from the recent past. And yes, I realize that Josh Gordon was not in the game and that is a big deal, but nonetheless, the improvement was significant.

So why is a stiff arm ok and a stiff leg is not? Or was it because of contact to the face mask?

It looks intentional but i still believe AB totally mistimed his jump....he launched about 3 yards beyond the punter and the punter didnt really go very low in a submarine stance so AB sorta got hung out there.

I saw alot of good from todays game....and bad, obviously. At times our offense, especially in the beginning, was very creative and had alot of misdirection stuff. It kept Cleveland off guard and Haley and Ben need to expand on that from week to week. Ben looked great, the OL played decent, our skill players were making plays. In the 2nd half I think it was a combination of the defense/team getting over confident, offense becoming too predictable and stagnet, and we just didnt have an answer for Clevelands hurry up offense.

Its a division win, so its huge, great start to the season. I'm not worried about our defense yet. I think these are things that will get better with time and this unit will gel together. One game does not make a season. GO STEELERS!

Shazier was one of the few bright spots on the defense. Great instinct and a nose for the ball; I just hope he can put on about 15-20 lbs and not lose his speed. It took awhile, but I think they may have finally found a suitable replacement for Potsie.
