According to NFL Network‘s Ian Rapoport, Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker, Ola Adeniyi will not be tendered by the team and will hit free agency on March 17th.

Adeniyi is a restricted free agent and went undrafted in 2018 out of Toledo. Since then, Adeniyi has been primarily a backup for the Steelers and has logged 9 tackles and 2 forced fumbles.

With the salary cap tight, the #Steelers are not able to tender RFA special teams ace & backup OLB Ola Adeniyi, source said. He’ll be a free agent.

I think this will be a common headline for the STEELERS, just substitute the player name.

After flashing early in his career, Ola was basically invisible on defense. No pass rush threat at all. They can find a cheaper option to offer similar production.

He kinda looked like Harrison in the frame. Got some of us excited. He looked good against 2's and 3's in first exhibition season. He didn't challenge as a starter and he is barely good depth. Just a guybas far as I'm concerned.

Looked great vs back ups but invisible vs starters thought he should of seen more ot than marsh who was terrible hopefully a cheap vet replaces him or a hungry day 3 pick

Ola's time is up. I'm expecting the FO to bring a vet minimum free agent for depth and then a late round pick to groom

This was a no brainer.... if the Steelers offered him the restricted tender they would have to pay him $2 million - which he is not worth. He may be back on a lesser contract.

Not a big deal! He won’t be missed but he was good on ST though.
