On to the Seachickens - week 2 pregame Seattle at Pittsburgh

I see the noise again about trading for Hill, but don't give it much notice. The team would be stupid to trade for Hill unless the defense gets fixed first since the offense isn't going to win any super bowl without a top defense. The Todd Haley years showed us that.

If you can get the defense consistently playing at a top five level, and someone like Hill is the missing piece, then do it. Until then, worry about the defense stopping the run and the left tackle being able to block someone so the QB makes it to the end of the season in one piece.

IMO - no one like Tyreek, if the team can get past his legal issues; but, I wouldn't touch him until I know he's in the clear there. IF he is - we have multiple 3rd round picks next year (I'd use one and get Mr. Hill)...

No disrespect to Hill but he’s all hype imo
Rather have CA3 out there

Why not stick #80 right beside Jones for most plays? It would help the passing game, couldn't hurt the running game and it's not like he was gonna get 5 targets per game.

Makes too much sense

Kinda like it would make sense to try Black in the middle of the D when Benton wears his roller skates to the contest

Tomlin has always been and will always be smarter than everyone and he has a plan…obviously

Last week he was trying to tire out Fields by letting their offense march up and down it endlessly….pure genius we’re witnessing

Ill admit youre a pretty funny guy.

Great video, the tape don’t lie.

My question is why the ****-iN hella isn’t the OL coach talking to these guys about technique. Obviously that needs to be honed constantly.

That “If you don’t know by now, we can’t help you” line is complete bull-****. I guarantee you that other teams OL coaches / specialist coaching, brings that sloppy play to their OL players attention and hone it in better.

That’s the difference from mediocrity to well oiled.

They try I'm sure, but I think some guys just revert to their old ways. Especially in stadium. I think that's why a lot of guys wash out at all positions..they may have the athletic ability, but when it comes to honing their craft they lack the mental discipline that it takes to compete against the best of the best.

So first off about the line issues... its a really young line... and Meyers supposedly teaches a unique weird technique thats closer to martial arts than regular blocking... it theoretically works, but Im guessing most guys wont be able to process and react fast enough to use it.

The good news is that lines typically gel as a season progresses... and for lines that dont, teams can revert to a simpler blocking scheme that is easier to adhere to

“We can’t help you”

Is coach speak for “I suck at my job and should be fired”

It is a young line, that returns everyone from last year. He’s wasted enough time not getting his crappy point across to the young men.

I’ve seen enough of Meyers unique weird techniques to know he ain’t the guy to be trusted with developing all the assets the Steelers have been investing in.

He’s trash and the Steelers should be able to better. He must’ve introduced Dino to his girlfriend or some stupid **** like that…it’s the only thing that makes sense cuz he sucks.

Dude and his technique doesn’t help build winners.
He’s a classic trash coach that is zero threat to Tomlin’s throne…which makes him the perfect guy for the job.

West coast team coming east for a 1pm game is usually tough on that team. I see us winning and starting off 2-0, Seattle d gave up almost 400 yards to SF, and they only gained 230 total yards on offense, maybe this "historic" all time defense does something this week.

I hear yaz Gildong Sack, but when 5 guys are doing near the same thing fundamentally wrong it seems to point me to the coaching being ok with that.

Pat Meyer has never been the answer. B. Jones may or may not be the answer, but at this point of his career with the blatant miss-handling…….. you can’t hold it entirely against him should he fail.

We have invested a LOT into both sides of the trenches, it would be justifiable to bring in quality sub-coaching to enhance the quality of developement.

PS. Thanks for all your great post(s) along the way, appreciate yaz.

They may need another week nor two to gain Historic gel.

In the mean time, thye need to do enough to have our ending score be 1 more than the opposition.

I actually think we see a better representation than last week, but will have room for improvement as well.

Where is Coach Munchak?

That’s a continuously asked question.

Muncheck is never coming back as long as the current HC is employed here.

One can surmise all directions of pro and con, but the bottom line is if
Munch wanted to come back………. He would be here b y now.

Pat Meyers NEEDS to be gone and I don’t know who is available to replace him with.

Rest a-sured…………… there are way above the “Standard” out there but some won’t come to this ego-manic hella hole.

It’s like when the Steelers were used as a stepping stone for Flores to get back on the sidelines

He couldn’t get away from the Mikeromanager quick enough. As soon as his feet were firmly on the stone he was hopping away ASAP

You are spot on, Munch ain’t coming back.

Man I miss having an OL coach that doesn’t suck and actually improved players rather than make them worse…also miss having a competent defensive mind on the staff.

Arthur will be a HC somewhere else very soon I predict, just biding his time. Rodgers may afford him his launch pack from Pittsburgh. He seems too qualified for the post.

How many snaps our top 3 RB's take in preseason..... hmmm

That’s just it, that tape slow mo doesn’t lie. I like the way he presents and rewinds and forwards and slow motion.

Jaylen didn’t have such a good day either.
