One of the best draft classes I remember

Benton looks like a steal, teams are against the 90's and early 2000 2 down DL, because of the pase but for 6"3 315 Benten has some speed and good anchor power unfortunately since the Brown's home win he has only had 1 good ILB behind him and either an edge or back guy.
I think you bring Kwon back as your locker room vet and help groom one of these draftees ILB like Luifau ( Notre Dame) Trotter JR (Clemson) Cooper ( A &M) or Colson (UM) one of these 4 should be drafted to be future starter and compete with Holcumb.

NOT ILB?
Not O-Line?
A lot depends on where we end up, whose left, ect.
At this juncture, it needs to be BPA.
Absolutely not ILB. There really aren't any worth a first-round pick, IMO, but it's like RB and TE. You can find really good players in the second and third rounds.

I am not up to speed on who has declared and rankings/ratings just yet.
I will defer to you if you're already geared up for draft season and know strengths/weakness of each of the positions.
Just throwing it out there that we have issues at a few positions that need addressed.
And the Steelers have a proven track record of WRs in the later rounds. We ALWAYS find them. We can certainly wait on WR.

This draft is rich in WRs. If the BPA is clearly WR you pull the trigger regardless if it is late or early.

They have to get a DL in Rd. 1 or 2 at the latest. If Cam retires, we have Ogunjobi if he's healthy and Benton. The other guys they drafted late the last few years are servicable, at best but aren't going to get us anywhere. DL and even OL are still big priorities.

This was a terrific draft class after a year.

Broderick Jones is beginning to turn into a tone setter for the offensive line. Not just his play, but his demeanor. I can't wait to get him back to his natural side.

Joey Porter Jr. quickly earned the CB1 job, one of the toughest for a rookie to lock down. He played very well and there will be options to get him a running mate in the first round next year.

Keanu Benton was the best of the three second-round options on the defensive line. He was the one who can play the run and develop as a pass rusher. While there weren't sacks on the stat sheet, he generated pressure and has the look of the foundation for the DL.

Darnell Washington was up and down and will never be anything more than a role player in an offense, but that's fine. When he was on, his blocking was very good. He still has to develop, but you have to love what we saw from the ground game.

Nick Herbig is an undersized pass rusher with an All-Pro work ethic. I don't know what he'll develop into, but at worst he looks like a very good pass rusher off the bench.

The only thing I would've like to have change would've been grabbing Ivan Pace Jr. late in the draft. Granted the front office did great work signing players to fill that positional need.
Spencer was rostered and backup for the entire offensive line.

We may have JPJ's partner on the roster when Corey Trice gets back healthy next TC!

I agree. I have a lot of faith in them now compared to a fading Colbert.
Well, come on Colbert's last 3 drafts were...great. Well, we don't know the outcome of 2022. It all comes down to Kenny but I'm not holding my breath on him. I'm not a big fan, at all, of 2021. Najee was a stretch, a Rooney pick. Fail. 2020 was nearly an entire bust if not for Highsmith.

I want a Center. A good one. and another tackle.
Broderick’s teammate Sedrick Van Pran looks like another young Markice Pouncey. Depending on the combine, 2nd/3rd rounder.

100% Ike. We would be lucky to get him in the second I think. If he’s there I hope we do the Steeler Sprint to the podium.

He will be in the senior bowl if I remember correctly. So between that and being from Georgia and athletic (good frame too)...he should be on the Steelers radar...

Leal has been a disappointment for me, I had high hopes of him becoming a core piece of the Dline. Hopefully a late bloomer as a the position is a tough one to get going, getting grown man strength and the technique through experience

He has been a disappointment to everyone including the team as he has recently been inactive. Never a good sign.

I hope they continue to add pieces in free agency as the trenches need that continual stock piling...
