The Defense should be improved. On paper, it, certainly is. We will see when the fanny hits the fabric for Game 1, though.

The offense may be "worse" thank last year without Brown, but it should not be significant enough and one could argue it will force us to be more balanced and, in that sense, "better". I think our Backup RB's and QB's are better this year and they always seem to have pretty decent back up OL.

Nice to read Cowher likes our chances and positive outlook. Thanks for the write up DKSports.

I agree that losing aclown could be a sting but I truly think we have enough to make up for him. We don't have to have one player produce more than him but the accumulation of many players will more than cover said production. Browns are picked to win division with baltimore 2nd and STEELERS 3rd / NOT making playoffs. I've also read that it's the toughest division in football and possibly three teams will come out of it for the playoffs.................. pick what you want but I say STEELERS win division outright and 1st round bye. Through PITTSBURGH will go the SB.

I think losing AB forces the offense to be more balanced (as Ark already mentioned) and, as a whole, should allow them to maintain their form. And perhaps a better (or even positive) turnover differential if the defense can get some picks this year.

Steelworth, It's not if but WHEN we win the turn over battle. Our DBs are actually using the Juggs machine (unheard of in the past). Getting INTs in training camp (more quantity than in the past) so I take it our differential will improve. We as Fans have a lot to look forward to and hopefully play out in our favor. Yes Excitement is building.

Yeah, I have heard they're getting a lot of picks in TC, that is good news. Love your optimism.

Taken with a grain of salt, has"The Chin" ever picked against the B&G?

Still, can't wait for the real season to start, with a chip on their shoulder and motivated by Coach Drake's passing.

Hoping for an epic game one.

The steelers won 2 superbowls without ABasketCase and Leave14.5mill onTheTaBell.

If anything they'll be a better unit because of it. Well they should be anyway.

i didnt read the article , so i may be repeating some of bills thoughts but there is no excuse not to go to the afcc
under the radar
tomlin has a ton to prove from lasts years debacle
defense will be much better
no ab or bell drama
juju will want to prove he can be a #1 and show up AB
team sees the NEED to be unselfish team players
team was embarrassed all off season drama(circus) and the way the season got choked away
ben has chip on shoulder for ab situation and will want to prove he can do it without him
playing for drake

everything is in place(once again) lets see how the team gets coached and prepared for every game

I didn't realize the extent, but he really is a basket case. Did you see his IG post about Drake's passing? He said "see you soon". Who the **** in their right mind would say something like that?

Where is this prediction? I've seen articles (one posted on here) that says the Steelers will win 10-12 games. They aren't coming in 3rd winning that many games. I'm sure some sites have them 3rd but others don't.

The problem last year was they weren't in position to catch the balls. I know they dropped a few but most of the time they weren't anywhere around a ball. They were either sacking the QB or having WRs being guarded by LBs. You aren't getting many ints. by sacking the QB and letting WRs run wild with LBs chancing them.

Uncle Ark makes some good points. I would also like to see Ben get a little more playing time in the preseason so he can be more in sync with his receivers in week 1. Would like nothing better then to hammer those **** waffles on their home field when they raise that banner.

I posted the Ranking by Division thread ranking the AFC North as the toughest division in football also it states possibly three teams could come out of there to make the playoffs. About 2 weeks ago I read an article about the 3rd place finish within our division (not going to look it up).

As for the turn over battle, it is my opinion at to us being BETTER at it than last year. The team is practicing more at catching. As for your better player position on the ball, it will be improved due to the better players brought in / experience / year under their belt.

Or our safety (Davis) hitting our CB (Haden) so hard it knocked a guaranteed INT away from Haden and would've stopped a SD TD drive.

Short of injuries, I honestly think this team will be improved (on both sides of the ball) and more consistent in their play than last year. They very well may end up being in the toughest division in football this year and winning the division will have them battle-tested and ready for a playoff run.

Brown was a great option to have on 3rd and long. He is just so competitive and consistent that you had a great comfort level with him even when it was a long shot. I like Cowher's advice to just let the game come to you, try to stay ahead of the sticks and put yourself in as many manageable situations as possible.

If they can do that, I think they'll miss Brown less than many of us expect. On the other hand, if Ben is constantly going for the home run and subsequently they find themselves in a bunch of 3rd and 15+, I think it's going to be more difficult than ever to convert those.

Take it easy, Francis...LOL

Lighten up, Fredo.

Lets see how week to week preparation are this year because tomlin has done a terrible job last couple years i honestly think if Rooney didn't own steelers he would been fired couple years ago
Former Steelers coach Bill Cowher believes his old team just might be 'flying under the radar' in 2019. And that could benefit them.

The Steelers have too much talent to be below 500

As for us being a tough out, vs whom is the question. No more losing or tie games with bad teams, please.

We should be judged in the playoffs by winning at least one game. Anything less is a failure.

It seems like we have a lot of depth this year. Young guys are emerging at several positions. Agreed we’re going to be a tough out

Ben gives you 8 wins just by himself. If they don't win in the playoffs this year the entire season is a failure... just like last year. No reason to be at home during playoff season with Ben still playing well.
